Nice open air country car
I picked up my convertible on Wednesday in Zuffenhausen.
I enjoyed the Autobahn
but have a preference for twisty country roads.
A good friend has been very sweet to provide the perfect home for my car.
Top down and cool tunes, I'm loving it

I assume that this was a Euro delivery purchase.
If so, how was the experience?
You left it with a friend? I thought that you would bring it back to the factory so that they can ship it back to the United States.
Awesome car. I have a friend with similar color combination here in STL.
What is the color? Meteor/Natural leather?

I had a small share of a house in Naples,so since it has been sold,I was now available to spend the summer in Europe:so I decided to go to Porsche of Naples to Purchase a car with the"Tourist delivery" option.I picked up my car at the factory in Zuffenhausen(suburb of Stuttgart)
The welcome at the factory there was very friendly and efficient.
My car was waiting for me in a spotless room filled with other orders ready for pick-up:gt2s,gt3s...
However, since I had a 700 mile drive to France(with as much "limitless" Autobahn as possible
)and it was such a glorious day outside, I decided to postpone the factory tour and lunch, to when I return my car in 6 months.
I drove out with the top down(with wind deflector up behind)
Driving at 150 my hair was barely even ruffled
...
A friend of mine has an estate in Normandy that is an appropriate, and very safe, setting for such a car.He is kind enough to allow me to base myself here for the next 6 months.
Plenty of drives to nowhere in perspective...

I ordered my car at the end of March.
The European delivery option was actually entitled:"Tourist Delivery"on my order, and came at an additional cost of 4500$.
Porsche hooks you up with the first 2 weeks of insurance for free, the rest is optional and quite pricey: about 1400$ a month.
The "Tourist delivery" option does come with a very efficient assistance program.
The Autobahn was a good way to start, but the feeling of driving top and windows down zooming along a curvy French country road : ooohhh the never ending rush
Which brings me to a popular misconception: despite many opinions to the contrary, I love the sound of the engine: everytime I turn on the ignition It sounds like a Lion is awake and when I drive through tiny village streets, the echo of the flat6 against the close-by brick and stone houses sounds like a pack of lions on the prowl
One thing for sure, never a boring moment with my car...even when parked.
When the top and windows are down , the car looks so sleek and low
What a privilege to drive such a work of art

Love that Meteor Gray, Mycab! Nice interior too. Enjoy that car like it should be.
My coupe (same color) is just finishing the build at the factory. Can barely stand the wait. Hope to have it by the end of July.
Safe miles to you.

You are off to a great start with a sweet car.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
What a fascinating car, fast even when parked. And to think there is a whole other world of mods out there
First impressions of fast driving on small winding country roads already makes me want to beef up the suspensions, since the front doesn't feel as firmly planted on track as I would like, especially if there is a little wind.
Here's another pic on a small Normandy country road, with the famous chalk cliffs in the distance.
