interesting 997 this morning

Meteor 997 coupe with Dad in driver's seat, mom in passeger seat and 2 yes 2 child seats in the back!!!

In the morning, mom and dad probably going to drop off kids at daycare.
What a great sports car!

Try doing this in a Ferrari or a Lambo.

yes - me too. when I take delivery of mine (hopefully next week) - I will be installing two child seats in the back - I am the one that drops the kids to daycare.

I know this is a long shot. but did you get a look at what seats they were ??. I dont like the porsche seat - not only way out there on pricing - looks very uncomfortable. I was wondering what seats people are installing - ?. ie. 5 point harness seats - all purpose - not so much booster. my kids are 3.5 and almost 2.

But your right. I got the tt because of this. amazing.

Same here -- the turbo is made for families My 4 and 2 YO love the car.

For the 2 YO, I tried a bunch of seats. I wasn't happy with the fitment of any except for the Porsche seat -- yes the one with the table. The other seats each had something that didn't fit right: wouldn't fit square into the rear seat, stuck out too far on the bottom on the seat, would not allow easy access of seat belt (either side). In the end, I got the Porsche Junior seat, also thinking that my son would hatehatehate the table.

He didn't hate it. Or at least he liked the car enough to not complain at all about the table. In any case, after looking at how the table would crush in a crash, I'm convinced that the table is safer than a 5pt belt (with 5 small pressure points). And the cost is way out there. But my reasoning was that I'd rather have him in this car, and the price of the seat is cheap insurance for a great and proper fit.

My 4 YO daughter was far easier -- there's a bunch of boosters that fit fine, esp the seat-only boosters. The shoulder belt is at the right height/location without the belt guide from a full booster.

By seat-only I mean a backless booster, like this one. If the shoulder belt fits properly, then this works. Unfortunately, I don't know (and I doubt) that this Graco fits into the back seat of a 997. Target used to sell a backless Fisher Price booster that was made by Britax. It was fairly narrow so it fit. I don't see it there any longer.

My younger son is not ready for a booster, so he needs a full child seat. Tried Recaro Young Sport, Britax Roundabout, and some other random ones from the kid store. None fit in a way that I was happy with. So I ordered the expensive Porsche Junior (the middle one in the picture with the crash table). He's never complained...

thanks for all your suggestions. My car arrives this/next week - so first thing I will do is drive it down to the local baby store and try all the seats I can. I like the booster option for my 4 year old though - and I will look at the recaro baby seat for 2 year old.

Porsche 997TT & 2 kids...

The backseats in the 997TT were the reason for trading-in our Cayman last year. The Porsche seats fit well, I removed the leather seats to give the kids a bit more space...

Dropping-off the kids to school in the morning, holidays with the four of us, no problem, lots of fun!
