Well...I used to have a 996 Cab...in my opinion it was trying to do too many things and didn't score on any of them...so when it came time to get another one I moved up to a 997TT coupe.

The Turbo is amazing but I did miss the open air experience.

So for the last 8 months I have been having a Superformance Shelby Cobra built. This is the perfect compliment to the turbo...

The Turbo is like a fighter jet while the Cobra is a bomber!

The cobra has a Roush 427 with just under 600HP and weighs in at under 2600 pounds. Yet it feels heavier than the Turbo as it has no power steering or brakes.

The sound the Cobra makes is insane and it will scare the life out of you...no ABS, no shoulder belts, no air bags...just old school mega HP!

Awesome brutal partner to your TT... on a side note is your plate really mounted like that on your TT in the front or that a temp fix. That needs to go big time.

The plate is a mount I bought from a guy here on 6speed...it hooks into the tow hook so you don't have to drill the bumper...I found that the cops were paying too much attention to me so this got them off my back and I can take it off any time I like.

 

The Cobra is incredibly well built...it's as solid or more than any other modern car I've driven...frankly the build quality is stunning.

 

When you hit the throttle on this car it's just nuts...in the TT while it's fast...you feel all safe and secure...this car makes me scream at times like I'm on a rollercoaster...no joke...it's adrenaline central!!

Yes it's a replica built under licensing from Carroll Shelby...so you get the same look of the original with all modern components...plus the paint job is spectacular...

Well the engine isn't fully broken in yet - but from seat of the pants I think it would spank my TT in a straight line. Seriously...no joke...this thing is insanely fast.

To compare them is tough as they are so different...it has no AC, no power anything, no windows, no roof, no radio...nothing but the raw basics...and I love it...it's a pure driving experience with nothing to distract you but the ringing in your ears from the huge roar it makes!

The suspension is totally modern...bilstein shocks, wilwood brakes, etc.
