I was looking for a car in the low $30k's range. The 2003 S55 is really appealing to me right now - seems like a lot of power. What other cars do people recommend?

I know these are in a different class - but I also looked at the BMW 7 series and Audi A8L - although they don't perform as well as the S55, they do have a bit of a more updated look. (SInce the S55 is the older body style)

 

Personally, I would get a 7 series with that budget. Although you may see it significantly depreciate as the new body releases.

 

i loved my 03' s55 when i had mine. plenty of power(i had kleeman k2 package) and very spacious. very reliable and never any issues when i owned mine. go for it!!

 

go for the sclass have an 02 S500, great vehicle havent had any problems, should be a great buy!

 

There are so many 7 series on the road though, at least the S55 is a bit rarer in terms of eye appeal. (Although the body design isn't the latest) But the performance seems great!

 

S55 is a good choice.

 

What about a lower class but newer AMG model? Some of them are the same price - like a 2005 C55, or maybe even a 2004 E55. The S55 seems much better, though.

 

I wouldn't touch it with out any kind of warranty...if that superchager goes..I hope you have $15,000 to replace it......

 

nice cars, my dad had alot of fun with his 03 s55, they have alot of brunt, power, and look better (IMHO) than the new s-classes. great bang for the buck car especially if your paying that much for it.
