Road Debris
Had my front bumper off and blew about a 1/2 lb of cig butts, leaves etc, from my side radiators & front...
So check your radiators!
Stuff seems to lodge way in the back on each side radiators from the scoop effect....
Probly more in the southeast of the country where there are more leaves on the road...
Gee-Bee

So correct GEE-BEE ... this time of season in New Jersey ... 'Fall' ... I am pulling out handfuls of leaf debris each week. I use the big Shop-Vac with a reducer wand (Home Depot/Lowes sells the reducers and wand) to get into the back corners. Cleans it right out.
Hope this helps make it easier.

Don't let the dead-bird thing surprise any of you ... an un-named source in a driving club said he's always "Flying Around" in that sled!!! I'm sure there's not a bird safe on Long Island!

Yep, pulled it out at the glen one day. Which club SS?
Don't worry the radiator was fine, the little feathered thing was all balled up in the corner, prolly dining on some road kill at about 5am on rte 17 on the way to wg. The last thing that went thru his mind was his ****.

Almost went out for Sunday's Exotic-Rally out your way TT-Surgeon - it's mostly Champion Motor Group people with a lot of Lambo's, (my boss runs with a lot of the Lambo Clubs and invites me along), but I was looking for "any" P-Car entries for camaraderie. Dropped your screen name (and others), was told you can run with anyone.
Alas I caught the flu on Thursday and was down & out all weekend. (That's why my post count is so high the last few days
).
Those that don't know "The Glen" - it's known for having it's share of birds, fowl, and foxes. Of all of them, birds are the most 'hollow' and leave the smallest of marks even on direct hits. With grill slats to buffer the impact the radiators are relatively safe, but have been known to overheat from the "down blanket"
.
Those that have been to Riverside back in the 80's wish little birds were the problem. I've taken out radiators, oil coolers, and worse from the geese infestations
they had back then. That was bad - and ugly.
Now I'm glad when it's just leaves packed in the radiator housings.
Sure we'll meet sometime TT Surgeon.

another spot to check is the intercooler ducts - debris can get in there are reduce the cooling surface of your intercoolers. There is a small round trap door on the duct (wheel well side) that allows you to remove debris
Be careful sticking your hand in there, I found a black widow living in my vent after returning from Birmingham in April. The damn thing had built a very intricate little nest down in the low pressure side of the bumper, probably dining on bugs as they came in.
Another Turbo tid-bit that I didn't know about. My previous C-2 and C-4's didn't have these intricacies (trap doors & such) of the Turbo. This forum is a treasure of little secrets for new Turbo owners like me.
