Question Carbon Fiber Roof for Turbo Thoughts?

I wanted to see if anyone has done this before like on the M3 and what their thoughts are for warranty etc?

I am too chicken to do it.

In all seriousness, how about just doing a carbon look wrap? A little less risky and the dealer wont void your pesky roof warranty.

I could see a total ***** dealer giving you a hard time on certain creaks and noises he could blame on the roofs integrity (true or not, the dealer has an out here) but failing that your warranty is fine so long as the roof replacement is not the cause.

I made that mod in my M3 with OEM CF roof and middle section steel reinforcement bow,it is a scary mod but it was one of the nest mods ever made.
If Porsche had this parts I will do it for sure.

why was this a good mod for you M3?? I've done many performance mods and this is one I was considering. Hard to justify the cost.

It saves weight from the worst part ,the roof.
And really saves a lot of overall weight.

Really nice scary mod I spend some time planing and getting the right tools,OEM parts (M3 CSL parts are super hard to get and very expensive) special structural glue.

mr997 is infamous around these parts
I'd say that if cost is not an issue, go for it. It does look nice and as someone mentioned, you'll save weight,...if that's what you're looking for.

Do you track your M3??I forget the exact figure its like 16 pounds on the roof. I saved a bunch of weight with TI exhaust and Section 1 and 2. Also installed RG-41 champion wheels with Brembo BBK and CSL bootlid. Are you running any performance mod on your motor?
