Boy was that an amazing auction, although not too many very very expensive cars, did anything even sell over $1 Million? I only saw that old airplane with three engines that went for over a million. Nice 1955 T-Bird #1 for $600,000.

I can't believe how cheap some stuff was going. 1 off '05 C6 'vert from GMs collection for $35k. 1997 Porsche Turbo S, for a hair over $90k with around 20k miles.

Lots of nice stuff, for cheap money. The old muscle cars weren't pulling anything near what the were 2/3 years ago.

I can't believe some of those GM factory backed cars were selling for pennies on the dollar.

the collector car market seems to be readjusting itself for sure - prices are down from 2-3 years ago -- there was no way to keep on the pace of appreciation that a lot of the older muscle cars saw in the last 4-5 years -- had to reset itself eventually

the cars that really are the top level cars will continue to hold a good value and possibly appreciate but the lesser cars that were going for crazy money are coming back to reality

Gooding and RM auctions sold over $50M in cars.

The top money was for a 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider ($4.9M).

Gooding:

RM:

I didn't watch B-J.

Since this is the muscle section.... I thought a few of the pro-touring Camaros and such did quite okay.... that twin turbo 69 Camaro hit $150k.

Yeah... It seemed like the custom cars held up better than the "stock" cars.

Definitely. The original type collectors seem to be hurting a little more than nicely put together customs..

Cars

They are taking a hit but the right cars will ALWAYS bring good money. I still saw 69z28's in 50-80k range, A few boss 302's over 100k! so i guess it just depends on how good the car is..
