Mods round 2 exhaust, cold air intake & coilovers
So i got the car back last week & finally got some seat time in it this weekend.1st up was the exhaust after much research & some talking to those who have heard them all i choose the Milltek exhaust with a nice set of Fabspeed tips.I really wanted a quiet exhaust i live in a gated community on a golf course & have to pass 5 tee boxes & a putting green to get to & from my house & didn't want anything offensive driving round the course, also at high revs noise is an issue for me.So i got what i asked for this thing has a higher note than stock but really is quiet even a high revs no noise in the cabin at all just a nice tight kinda whine .Topped off with a nice set of polished twin Fabspeed tips which at first seemed a little to polished for me but have already shifted color a little with the heat & now look great.
Next is the Agency cold air intake,i know there's been much discussion about whether these actually add any horse power or not & i initially looked at the Werks one product which is beautiful but decided against it after finding out the price,i figured money would be spent better in other area's but still wanted an intake .After looking on the Vivid site & talking to Dan i went with the Agency intake it looks to me like the fabspeed version but with a nice carbon air box to cover everything not just a carbon shield as on the Fabspeed leaving all the filters exposed & looking more like the engine bay of a baja bug than a 911.Tech told me install was fairly smooth ,they charged me 1hr for install which was great ,i also had them clear coat it to give it a little better shine ,the quality of the carbon fiber was not the best but for the engine bay it is fine .I really love the way it looks when you open the lid now.
Performance wise there was a noticeable difference but not huge gains by any means ,both items contributing to these gains i'am sure ,again noise from both of these items is very lite, with the windows down i can hear some sound when i nail it but overall pretty quiet which was my goal.
Last was the Bilstien Damptronics after reading all the info on here from previous discussions on this topic,i new i had to go with the an adjustable ride height as i think the springs might be to low for me.As soon as i sat in the car i could feel it was lower ,i told them to set it at 15 mm but feel i maybe at 20 mm & might have to adjust on next visit after some settling. As far as the ride ,i was expecting the worse but am very happy with it & find it to be very tolerable & not much different from stock seems to handle great in the turns, although i haven't pushed it that much yet .I also had the side rockers painted silver & together with the Bilstien has dramatically changed the look of the car, it really looks low i think on a light colored car the painted rockers alone can make a car look lower.
Thanks again to Dan at Vivid for hooking me up with everything ,next up for round 3 will be some interior carbon fiber goodies ,i went to the LA Porsche meet CEC had over the weekend and this beautiful custom Techart steering wheel followed me home,it's really thick & has perforated leather with a carbon fiber top ,no tech art logo & excepts the OEM center cover with Porsche crest, what sucks is i also just bought the Factory carbon fiber steering wheel, still in the box so i will be putting that on up for sale in the classifieds.
