Selling the ride

Selling my turbo, although I will miss the car so much I am moving onto to other ventures.

Just would like to hear some feedback on whether I should trade the car as is with all the modifications or whether to take out all the parts and and sell individually.

I am sorry to hear that you are selling. Unless you can find the perfect buyer, I think you would be best off returning the car to stock form (or as close as possible) and selling the mods separately (probably at about a 50% discount). Most non-enthusiasts will not appreciate all that you have done with your car and the majority of buyers are not enthusiasts. Good luck.

You won't get much for the mods if you were to trade it the car with them, and most dealers probably won't like to take them in trade as they won't be able to make it a Certified Pre Own if it were a P Car Dealer. I just got a new TT so I may be interested in taking your intake, headers, exhaust and Coilover and maybe even the ECU tune if it is transferable.

Parting out a car like yours with all the mods done is more work than its worth . Trading it in you lose everything . You can either do one of two things :
1) Private Sale
2) High end used lot .

The high end used lot is somewhat attractive . The concept is simple --If you just want to sell your car they will give you more than a dealership but less than a private sale . They cut a check right on the spot .
If you trade the car they offer more in trade and have a variety of other high end cars .

This is actually an interesting avenue for a driver who likes to trade cars often .

BTW --miles are very important . How many do you have?

The problem with selling to a 'high end' luxury dealer is that they will give you only slightly more than a Porsche dealer will, and in many places, you have to be careful about these folks.

I would still recommend either restoring the car to original form and selling the parts, selling the car as a private owner (takes time), or trading it in at a Porsche dealer for a less expensive Porsche (Cayman?) if that is an option. They will be more flexible on pricing with the latter on a trade-in.

Just my $0.01.

Return it to stock and sell the parts, you can get about 50 cents on the dollar for the parts vs a significantly reduced trade in/sale value on your car. Remember, mods add zero to the value of a car on the used car market, probably detract from the value, if anything. The only exception is a Ruf conversion, those cars actually hold their value more than most.

I did this a few months ago with my 997S. Took off all the mods and sold them, the car retained it's "CPO" status when I traded her in on a TT.

Of course not worth the hassle to take the LWFW, etc. out but exhaust and suspension parts are easy enough to undo. When I tried to trade in my GT3, Rusnak Porsche even wanted me to pull the aftermarket navigation and put the factory head unit back in to make the car fully CPO.

Definately return it to stock and sell the parts...unless u find that "perfect" buyer u'll be lucky to get 30% of its value....Maybe get 50-60% if sell separately....To add to the problem is that some I would venture to say most dont even wanna touch a modded car...I wouldnt...I'd rather do mods myself on a fresh car that I know hasnt been riden hard....Whether u rode it hard or not, its just the stigma attached to moded cars...

^ I agree. It's very difficult to sell a modified car. It's a hassle, but you're better off taking it back to stock and selling the parts. Good luck!

same year or even a year older, same clicks or even a bit more, same options or what not, same price or even a bit more, I'd much rather have a modded car in comparo to a stock one.

Coming from a guy with a cpo like stock car.

I'd consider ur rims if your thinkin of sellin em.
