crappy morning
This is how my morning started.
0900 in the morning, some a-hole crashed my window and stole the radar detector. This was in the hospital parking lot.
Be careful out there guys.

That stinks. Sorry to hear, but did you have it out in plain view? These days, you can't leave anything out on the dash/windshield so easily seen.

I stupidly got in the habit of leaving it on the windscreen for the last 2 years. Today it caught up with me. I'm gettin a hidden k40 and will use the V1 strictly for road trips.
It's the physician parking area in the main hospital garage, open to the public.
No damage to the car, just the glass, it's already at the dealer being repaired.

Terrible. I also think your post ought to serve as an eye opener . The current economy has thrown a lot of despair onto the streets . Once upon a time a drive at 2PM would have empty roads . Lately I notice that the roads are filled at that time because when enough folks are unemployed they end up on the street . With less money in their pocket a Porsche 911 Turbo as well as the driver become live bait for a theif .
I look over my shoulder ANY time I take ther car plus I am very selective as to when and where I drive the car. A smash and grab sucks but things could be worse .
Be safe and be glad that this simple snag can be fixed.

I put everything away when my car is parked anywhere. I put bags in the trunk and everything else in the glove box.
My first car had its window smashed right outside my house while I was taking a nap in broad daylight, lost a phone and a camera, after that I learned my lesson.
Luckily they didnt damage the car aside from the glass, sometimes they use screwdrivers and pry the window out and damage the pillar or other areas.

that really sucks! sorry about your day! i work at hospital and i always park on the very edge spot next to an elevator, so hopefully they stay away from my car as everyone would see them messing with it.

Yeh, sign of the times I am afraid. I even wipe off any sucker marks on the windscreen as people often break into cars after seeing those expecting to find something worth steeling in the glove box (sat nav etc)
