I have hit mine at least 20 times since I got the car in January. First and second gear the most. Anyone else?

Good to know, I am heading to the track next week, first time and I am pretty stoked!
How about the rear end taking some abuse? Today I was showing my car off to my buddy and while we were talking I let the clutch out in 3rd gear very fast and revs were not up and I get solid clank from the rear end. I did this twice, I don't know what the hell I was doing, obviously not paying attention. This is the only time this has happened. You ever do this? I am hoping this would not hurt the car if not repeated.?.

I wouldn't try to 'launch' any porsche like that, car isn't designed for that kind of suspension shock. You should have no issues at the track, I assume you mean the KS roadcourse and not kcir when you're referring to the track (I used to live there). Have fun!

I am going the Heartland track in Topeka, looking forward to it.
I was not trying to launch the car, I just took my foot off the clutch in 3rd and I guess the revs were low and the rear end went clunk. I was talking and not paying attention.

Dude, don't worry about what happened, these cars are bullet-proof, they can hold up to tons and tons of abuse and track time.

So hitting the rev limiter does no harm ,then how do you get over revs which can cause harm right ? i had my mine checked for over revs when i bought it on the advise of a forum member ,dealer said it was clear, since then I've hit the rev limiter a couple of times would i still test clear, wouldn't the rev limiter kick in before over revs i guess is my ?

When you hit the rev limiter it does register as an over rev. From what I have been told these types of over revs are like a 1 or 2 type and really a not a concern.
When you see type 4 or above then there has been a mechanical over rev and those they(Stealership) do not like to see. That is my understanding. I am sure there are others that can explain it much better.

Missing a downshift will do it. For example dropping from 5th to 2nd (instead of 4th) and then releasing the clutch will spin the crank up into the red zone or worse yet, the dead zone, before engine compression braking takes hold, you hit the brake, clutch or break glass and pull the little red handle.
Amazingly and fortunately, I am not speaking from personal experience.

yes - some over-revs are very bad for the engine - as mentioned already.
I hit the redline (1st and 2nd gear) several times when I first got the TT, I was transitioning from a 997S with TIP. I kept forgetting to shift the TT - dah!.
