How much for a tire?
How much for a tire?
I was watching something on CNBC the other day about the extremely wealthy. One person had a collection that included a veyron. He said something like he can justify the price of the car but one day he had a nail in the tire and it cost him $22,000. For real?
according to a Car and Driver article: "Four of this car’s Michelin PAX Pilots will set you back $25,000. If they’re mounted on wheels—a process undertaken only in France—well, that’s $70,000."
It's my estimate there are VERY few Veyron PAX tires made. Given that a mold is north of 75k the return on that investment has to come from somewhere. And we all know it sure isn't volume!!!!

I read it was an exchange program. Like when your tires are worn you dont just buy tires. The rims and tires are sent back to them and you are sent new tires already mounted and balanced on new rims from bugatti.
I've read this as well. They (Bugatti) will not let anybody else distribute or mount/balance new Veyron tires. When you get a new tire, you get a whole new rim. Then they take your rim back, clean it and such, and it goes to the next guy who gets a tire.
