Hi,

I am planning on going to laguna later this year. Will my car
pass sound with stock exhaust w/o cats?

Thanks

I was black flagged once on a 90db day with stock exhaust...don't know how much louder the exhaust is from stock with cats removed...muffler bypass will definitely not pass...you may have to pedal it between turns 5 and 6...if its a 92 or 93 db day you might be ok

I was fine with stock system and didn't have to lift. But I think it's right at the edge of the limit. You may have trouble without the cats. The stock 997 GT3s were getting black flagged unless they lifted.

I now have the GMG exhaust on the car and there is no way it would pass anymore.

Thanks for the info. I believe it will be a 92db day. Hopefully it will be okay.

It passed fine. I was going to tried to get a sound check on my last session
of the day, but it got cut short. So I never found out what the reading was.

glad you didn't get hassled..nothing worse than turning your best lap time and seeing the black flag at start/finish and having your session cut short and possibly your day

was just at laguna again. Sound check came back @ 92.9 db.

That's cutting it close.

When I was there a few weeks ago there were Radicals (which had to be WAY over the limit) and a bunch of cars with modded exhausts (996 turbo was the loudest) that had no problems... They sure threatened a lot in the driver meeting before we started, but took no action that I saw...
