speedART Sport Exhaust for the 997 Turbo
speedART Sport Exhaust for the 997 Turbo

Just finding an exhaust for the Porsche 997 Turbo is not a difficult process. Many manufacturers both abroad, and in the US, are making systems for this very popular sports car. However, not all of these exhausts are created equal. While this may sound cliché, it is the truth, and there is plenty of evidence in the extensive research and clever design that resulted in speedART's Sport Exhaust for the 997TT. While we are not going to go through and directly compare/contrast the speedART system with others on the market here, we would like to highlight some features that put it a step above others in the aftermarket, and also above the factory system.
Fabricated by one of 3 German companies that are TÜV approved as aftermarket exhaust manufacturers, speedART's system features all stainless steel construction, which is polished to a high shine for stunning looks and resistance to the elements. The factory system's heavy 2-piece muffler system is replaced with a much lighter and more efficient single-piece unit, attached to the tips and cats with heavy-duty clamps. Because the restrictive OEM catalytic converters are responsible for build-up of excess heat, speedART opted for 200cell high-flow cats that increase power output and keep the exhaust temperatures cooler. And because they are TÜV approved, these components are built to withstand the extreme conditions of Germany's autobahn, which requires a level of durability not often seen in systems manufactured elsewhere for non-German roads.

One detail that many exhaust manufacturers overlook is flange design. One-layer machined flanges, while cost effective, can warp over time; especially on turbocharged cars that produce intense exhaust temperatures. This can cause leaks that shorten the effective life of the exhaust system and have you replacing it prematurely. speedART foresaw this as a problem, and specified that their system be constructed with two layers that are TAC-welded together, allowing for expansion while preserving the shape and seal of the flange.

Speaking of welds, the quality of this system is readily apparent in the carefully executed joining of each metal piece; evidence that speedART chose old-world style craftsmanship over the new- age cost cutting seen in other systems. They even include factory Porsche gaskets with each exhaust, compared to many companies which provide inferior pieces or no gaskets at all!

Powerwise, speedART's 997 Turbo put out 507 crank horsepower with only this exhaust equipped. Combine all these advantages with the obvious sound gain over the factory piece, and you have a system that is an utterly reliable overachiever, truly appropriate for fitment on one of Stuttgart’s finest!

We would like to have some first-hand footage on a car so we can make our own video. So if anyone in/near NC would like the exhaust, we'll give you 1/2 off the labor if you let us do the install and shoot some video.

We're near the airport in Charlotte, so you're looking at around 3 hours. We could definitely get you in/out same day with the new exhaust. Then you'd have the return trip to enjoy it!
Can you PM me a price with the exhaust, ecu upgrade, filters and Rinspeed C5's with tires ?
Wouldn't mind the ride home even more like that
Sure thing.

We now have the exhaust from this test/install available at a special price!
It was on the car for less than 1000 miles, and is in like-new condition other than a slight color change on the piping. This is normal once the exhaust has been heat cycled a few times.
Price can be found here: speedART 997 Turbo Exhaust Special Price
