NEW PRODUCT from Werks One Composites / Carbon Fiber Y-Pipe

Werks One Composites, a division of Champion Motorsport, is proud to announce the release of our latest addition to the Werks One Composite line of performance upgrade parts for the Porsche 997 VTG Twin Turbo model cars.

This all new merge collector pipe (Y-Pipe) is made from 100% pre-impregnated carbon fiber materials. The curing process is computer controlled to provide a component that will withstand the high pressures and temperatures that are seen in these high performance cars. The design of this product was engineered by our staff, and then optimized with the used of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) technology. This performance upgrade offers a sizable gain in air flow, and power potential*. Another benefit of this new product is the substantial loss of weight. At just .5lb., this new product weighs in a full 2lbs less than the OEM component. But not only does it perform better, it also adds an improved look to the engine bay. The UV Protection from the clear coat is sure to make this component last.
<O

*Power potential of this component is largely dependant on the other upgrades installed to the specific car. A standard car running standard boost will see a lesser gain than a highly modified car running high boost levels with upgraded turbochargers.<O></O>

Finally, a larger y-pipe that fits the Werks carbon airbox. Nice piece.

Is this bigger? it looks like an OEM in CF, I think it looks very nice.
Simon, have you guys seen any water issues with the airbox?

The outlet diameter to the TB might be larger, but yes the tubing size does look OE, otherwise I don't think it would fit with that airbox. Perhaps the gains are in the internal design of how it flows/diverts air and reduces turbulence. Keep in mind that some y-pipe designs on the market enlarge the tubing diameter from the turbos but DECREASE the outlet to the TB for increased velocity. To be honest, my feelings are this has greater value as an aesthetic piece than performance (not questioning its performance value). We work with A LOT of carbon and the Werks carbon parts are always top notch dry/pre-preg much like we would have done.

No water issues with the box on our end. Make sure you have a tight seal.

My IPD y-pipe looks cheap compared to that lovely werks piece. I have the werks one intake and love it. The combo would have looked great together... extra horsepower or not. Nice job.

Do you guys remember how Jeremy Clarkson reacted to the Carbon-ceramic clutch and brakes when he reviewed the CGT? Well that's exactly how I felt when I saw those pix! AMAZING! Do you guys also make it for the 996TT?
