Sold my 997S for the E63.......help....

Ok, So I have a kiddo on the way and I finally sold my 997S. Mild track mods and 3 years of bliss while tracking it at MSR and Eagles Canyon.

Anyway, I'm looking to mod the E63 a bit. Honestly, I don't really NEED more power..... but i do NEED more sound. Not alot, just enough to hear it. The only exhaust I've seen is the Meisterschaft and at $2700 + install.... I'm not really interested.

Anythoughts?

Also, what other simple engine/intake exhaust mods are there? We did a weekend run in DFW last week with a bunch of guys and I was really surprised how well the Grey Whale held up in the corners. I'm planning to take it to a couple of track events.

Has anyone tracked theirs??

The E63 should be quicker the the 997S? Just have the dealer do the exhaust system so it doesn't mess with your warranty.

I did the exact same move. I sold my 997 S Convertible for my E63. Much different car but a very respectable car nonetheless. Vividracing, can you PM me the price and type of exhaust you have for sale...

Yes, the E63 is/was faster in a line than the 997S. Doesn't feel like it when driving alone but next to someone in an e92 M3 or a 997S its apparent. Even at higher speeds I pulled on a modded 997S this weekend. The best part of driving on roads (vs track) is that the brakes never get hot enough or significant fade. And, since roads (around here anyway) don't have back to back corners, you really only manage 1 transition or weight transfer... so, the E63 can keep up with cars that are much lighter .......Vipers, Vettes, 911s and E92M3s Well, other than the very well driven ones....

Pitbull,

Is that your Vantage? Damn, those sound fantastic...... Just awesome.

Frankly, I wish I could just have the CLK Black's exhaust sound......

Yeah I actually just sold my viper, looking for a CLS55 or 63. I honestly love the mercedes quality and the power is just insane.

I'll pm you guys, the deal is on the meisterschaft exhausts. I can obtain exhausts from Kleemann, Eisenmann, Carlsson etc. But the deal of the day is the Meisterschaft. Sounds crazy on the 63..

I actually wanted a CLS63, Damn they look just awesome. Probably the best looking 4 door around (The AM Rapide might be better.... but obviously more expensive...)

At the time I got mine back in December, I could save $22K going with the E63 over the CLS63. Also, with a kid on the way, I really needed a bench rear seat too.....

So, I took the $22K and put it in my Cobra kitty. (I'm looking at getting a Superformance Cobra 427 replica) The economy has pushed their values way down.....

I will want to track that as well, so I'm looking at some of the engine combos from Rouch and Keith Craft.

Yeah I would love to find a mars red CLS55 (3 in the us), or a white with black interior.

Let me know if you guys are interested in the exhaust. The deal won't last we just had a bunch available at a good price, great product.

Vivid,

you probably don't need any advice from me, but if I was to do it again, I would have given a stronger look at the CLK55/E55. Their mod-ability is easier.

my only real complaint w/ the E63 is the vented seats. I thought they would be great for here in Dallas... but they suck. or don't which is why I don't like them.

I rented an Infinity G35X in California a couple months back and their seats froze my nuts off. Loved 'em.

Thats actually funny because since we are in AZ, that was one of the benefits of the car I still like the chop top look, we have done a couple cars with the kleemann packages and they are pretty impressive.

Will send you a pm now.
