996TT 18" Aftermarket wheel offset/fitment question

I recently boguht a set of fikse wheels from a member on here with a described size of 18x11 with 25mm offset and 6.875 backspacing. I have installed the wheels and the rears sit a bit recessed behind the fender, so I was looking at adding some rear spacers. Contacted damon @ tirerack and he says that a wheel with those specs should be flush (or nearly flush) with the fenders with no need for spacers. I can tell you that the wheels are decently spaced from the fenders at current time. The car has H&r lowering springs - does that make a difference? I would like to bring the wheels out a bit more, so I was hoping that one of you guys could suggest a spacer size for me. Thank you!

your offset and backspacing numbers do not coincide...a 25mm offset is approximately 1" which would be a 6.5 inch backspacing on an 11 inch wheel...the 6.875 backspacing is a 1.375" offset or approximately 35mm. You could make it 25mm with a 10mm spacer and that should move the wheel out .4 inches.

Chuck, you are absolutely correct! The seller misadvertised the set by stating 25mm offset. Spoke to fikse today and i think they said it was a 35 or 38mm offset. Tirerack offers/stocks a 7mm and 15mm spacer for our cars. Im currently trying to figure out which one I should go with. Im thinking the 15 would work best, but would hate to make the wrong decision. I will definitely post up pics. the car looks awesome on the fikses, however, i wish they sat flush with the fenders w/o spacers and had a larger lip. Either way, I am very happy with my purchase and decided to become a fikse dealer and offer them to my clients. They really are a great product.

you can see how the wheels/tires fit now...a 7mm spacer will move it out only .3 inches with a 15mm spacer moving it out .6 inches...if you go with a spacer don't forget that you may need longer lug bolts and that is an added expense...Fikse makes great wheels...

Thanks chuck! As the car sits right now (with some negative camber), the bottom of the wheel sits a bit further out than the fender, while the top of the wheel sits recessed. I'm trying to figure out if I should run a bit less negative camber and use a 7mm. or go straight to the 15mm and hope that it isnt too wide. Either way, I will be using longer lugs.

I measured the out side of the lip on the top of the wheel to the outside of the fender and found the distance to be 5/8th of an inch, which should be somewhere near 15mm. I am just trying to figure out if the inner part of the fender will be hit upon compression. What wouldbe your suggestion: 7mm or 15mm?

I have 3 sets
2 - Profil 5S
1 - Profil 10

sounds like you need spacers and depending on what camber setting
you pick the spacers will be accordingly different

I only offered up the other set so that you can consider not having to have to run spacers

by your own description you only have .63 inches at the top...that is not quite enough for a 15mm spacer (.59") IMO...and if you reduce camber the tire will rub even more..are you sure you can't get a 10mm spacer, which seems to me to be perfect....H&R spacers and Eibach make a hubcentric 10mm (.4") spacer for Porsche..check it out here..I think that would be the ideal choice

Thank you very much. I think I will be keeping mine and running a spacer in the rear. IF you are open to offers, I might take that set to keep as a spare. Btw, do you buy and resell wheels at a profit?

Yep, again, I find your conclusions pretty spot on. I think a 7mm is a hair small and the 15 is too large (especially if I go a bit less negative on camber - or more neutral). I didnt see any 10mm for H&R - Damon told me he can special order anything that H&R makes, but he stocks 7mm and 15mm.

yeah..they say 10mm to 40mm but then show a 7mm and no 10mm...I would go for the 7 and if it still looks weird I would roll out some neg camber..but I don't think you will have to...7mm is almost 3/8 of an inch and that will put you pretty close on top..have fun
