which would you choose 63 or 65 AMG ?

Hi guys,

i have a 997 Turbo and i was thinking of trading it in either for a cl63 or s65. they are giving me an amazing deal on both cars.

i am not worried about the shape. I wanted to ask you whether the s65 is really more powerful tan the 63. there is only a .2 sec difference to 100kmph

i want the 65, but i just needed some reasons to get it

thanks

First thing: do you want a two door (CL) or a four door (S)?

If they can get the cost of the 65 reasonably close to the 63, I would get the 65. If I remember correctly, they are priced ~$50k apart, so if they make it closer, it would be worth it.

There was just no way I could consider the 65 at the time I bought my S63, but if the pricing were closer, it would have been tempting. I do like the sound of the V8 better than that of the V12 though.

If you are considering modding the car power-wise, then get the 65. I think the turbo motor is a lot easier to modify for more power than the naturally aspirated motor.

i prefer the 2 door....i love the turbo, but the deals on these two are leaning me more towards them

they are still priced 50k apart, but the 65 is selling at what the 63 would normally cost. these 2 cars are 2009 in the dealership. lets say the s65 is costing the same as a bentley gt speed 2010 model.

that was my other choice. but i am not concerned about the 2 door 4 door thingy

i wanted to know is the 65 way more powerful as it portrays itself on paper...or is the good enough. 65 is the best from amg and so i ask

or would the bentley be more exclusive?

The 65 has much more performance than the 63. The 0-100kph/0-60mph measurement is becoming less useful in these days of big horsepower cars. Standing start to 100kph is as much about traction off the line as power. I think both the 63 and 65 cars are limited in this test by how effectively they can put power down. Once rolling, when traction is no longer an issue, the 65 should walk the 63.

If its costing about the same as the Bentley, in all honesty, I would go with the Bentley! Its more exclusive, and I find it to be sexier! But its all about personal taste and what you want. My suggestion, go with the Bentley!

Keep the Porsche! Unless you need a sedan cruiser you will be very sorry down the road as the raw qualities inherent of the 997T are absent with most AMG cars.

I'm in the same position. Sold my turbo a few weeks ago and thinking about picking up the cl or s. Let me know what you decide between the 63 or 65 but I personally pick up the 65 simply because it's turbo and the 65>63

First off let me just preface this with the fact that I have only been in a 55 series and never a 63 or 65, but I would have to imagine the 65 almost has too much torque. It seems like a muscle car highway cruser. The 65s are scary how quickly they depreciate too. 65s on Ebay with <15,000 miles routinely seem to sell for just north of 100K. Don't all of the 63s have harder suspensions making them more agile, relatively speaking?

+1. This is so true. With the 63, you definitely feel the engine in a different manner then the 65. The 65, however, has the speed and is definitely a faster car. I have driven both and enjoy the feel of the 63 more (I guess why I own a CL63). In a simple way, the 63 is muscle and power while the 65 is smooth and fast.

The CL65 is for a Grandpa with a bad back and drives like a 1981 Eldorado Biarritz. The airmatic suspension blows! I never drove an S63 but I assume that it's the same ride. However, if u are set on an MB, u should test drive either a C63 (no airmatic there) or the new 2010 E63, as they removed the airmatic "grandpa" suspension at least out of the front.

i went for the test drive today. i only got 5km though in each car. i like the 63 a lot...much more feel, sound and it felt lovely

the s65 though felt very smooth and fast. in all honesty in the short drive i had i like the 63 a little bit more but i have to admit that i couldnt reach the same speed in the s65 as there was a lot of traffic.

i have a ferrari scuderia at home and i was thinking of getting something smoother and this test drive didnt really help me

Porsche called me as they found out i was in search for something smoother and they want me to get the panamera turbo

s65 or turbo? need your views again
