Mercedes Of Tampa Tried To Pull A Fast One On Me

Went in there today to look for a pre-owned '07 S550. A salesman came out to greet me. He told me that their is one in the back that just came in/serviced. I walked out back with him, it was a very nice car say the least.

46,500 miles
AMG Sport Package
Ventilated Seats

Price was on the drivers window $50,151

-Im thinkin to myself this car is a good deal. Was thinking of offering $48k

-Went out for a test drive, car drove wonderful, handling was excellent and a very smooth transmission. Walked in asked for his card and some more info about the car to compare for other S-Class' that I was looking at. Asked him to write down the price on the paper. He said there was no price "YET". I was like WTF??? It says $50,151. Guess it was my 997TT that I parked out front that raised the price. He said,"It will be in the mid to low 60's" I was like WOW!

It is certified, they are trying to +++ it all on top of $50,151. I feel that $50k is a fair price for 46k miles on the car.

Now what should I do? Hold em' to the $50,151 price on the window or just tell them to get lost?

Manager call me back, He said he was sorry for the confusion. The car is going for $55,784.

The $50,151 was before Tires,Brakes, Certification.

So why put the price on the window, when its not the REAL price after servicing?

There is nothing you can do. This car is not worth more than 50k, there is alot of them coming off lease and they are going to depreciate even more, plus the miles are high.

Salesman called me about 2 hours ago...

$51,466 will be their bottom line price.

I really like the car, but the OTD price is $55,600 with tax & dealer fee.

I'll just wait it out and try to find for $50k OTD

Call them up or bet yet go by there and just start laughing at the salesman then tell him and his manager to taking a flying leap into a shallow pool. You can find them all day long for 46-48K with less mileage and also certified.

Dont do it, any dealer trying to pull a fast one of this caliber and TRY to rip you off not once, not twice, but three times does NOT deserve your business. You can easily find a better price.

The price origianally wasn't advertised at 51k nor stated to you, you just assumed because it was written on the window. I still belive that car should be under 50k but i'd go for this one found through your buddy. Sounds like the better deal by a longshot. GL regardless
