SLR lowered on DPEs!

Finally got my SLR back from being lowered, corner balanced and aligned! Not an easy task when you're talking about a SLR to begin with and then finding out that a regular hoist can't lift the car without special "SLR only" attachments or you chance damaging the chassis! Anyway, all done and shod with some slick DPEs!

The chassis can actually crack if it's incorrectly lifted. There are some horror stories about this. Mercedes dealer have these special pins that screw into the bottom of the chassis and then fit into holes on the lifting arms. This prevents any kind of movement, imbalance or uneveness when lifting the car. I don't know the specifics but I do know - from multiple reliable sources - that this is not some dealer scare tactic. Aftermarket tuners have confirmed this.

Don't live in Vegas. Just visit it with some car guys a few times a year. We love the park - best roads around! Just have to be aware of the park rangers although it's not the end of the world if you get a speeding ticket in the park. Being a national park there are no points on your license. You may have a hefty fine but that's it. Sort of a "pay to play" situation.
