After having my Turbo for a little over a month ...

Can I just say one more time how much I love this car!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN!!!!!

I've never loved a car so much. I have had a lot of nice cars, MB, Audi, Jag, etc., not just Porsches (always my true love).

It had 4,200 miles on it when I picked it up. Next time it rolls out of the driveway it will go over 6,000.

If I may use the most overused work on 6 speed ... this car is "sick."

We have a lot in common - I've had mine for a month now and was about to say the same thing in my thread. Mine started at 5500 miles and now is about 7000 or so.
Just an amazing car. Enjoy in good health.

I 'm on three years with mine and feel the same . I only have 10,500 miles on it in my effort of trying to preserve it long term. I carefully think of each drive and try to evaluate whether the miles will be savored or not. Of all my cars it's the oldest and yet it's the one i hope to keep the longest.

Mine is one year old now and I love it as much as on the first day. BTW, that goes also for my Panamera Turbo that I have for only one month and have already put 5,000 miles on it (the 997 Turbo has 9k miles). Porsche simply makes amazing cars that you can use every day.

I got hooked on a 928S4 a long time ago. I preferred the touring style of the car more than the traditional 911, and 1988 was the year that the 928S4 really made its mark both comfort and engine improvements. It just didn't have the edge that a 911 has. Ironically, it was white with red interior and my Turbo is white but with cocoa leather. You would be surprised how similar the ****pits feel. More so than the 1999 996 that I just traded out of.

EDIT: ****pits = "driver's compartment" Sheesh!!!

The porsche is the first car reached 75k with me, using it as a daily drive some times for 3 years.

I thought I was driving it too much by putting on 4000 miles in 5 months. I do plan my driving route whenever i take the car out, 100% pleasure driving.

Maybe just over a month for me now I guess and I was going through withdrawal-like symptoms when I had it in a shop for most of a week to paint the undersides and do a little 3M work.
Once I got it back I found an excuse to make a run to Costco and instantly fell in love with it all over again. Even better was the black 996TT that caught up with me and brief moment of fun on the freeway - both of us smiles all the way - new and old ...

Truly a special car. I usually grow tired of cars within a year. Haven't had mine for quite that long, but I don't see myself getting bored with it for quite some time. Amazing power, still able to whip 99% of anything else on the road, timeless design.
And I haven't even done any power upgrades yet

You guys are really trying to pop my Porsche Cherry aren't you?

And to think I have trying to hold off getting a Turbo until the next model comes out, 991/998! Figure I have been waiting sinnce 1996 for one might as well wait a little bit longer.

The misses wants me to buy one new and get it configured; Nordic Metalic with Cocoa leather interior, PDK with flipper-flappers, locking-diff, no PCCB since the build is pushing just under $170K with all the goodies. I on the other hand have been wanting to get a used example and let someone else take the $60K hit on depreciation.

I went with option B and let someone else take the hit. I think there are many problem free 997.1 Turbos on the market from the guys who want the newest version out. I went to the dealer eyeballing a 2010, and walked out with an 07 Turbo with 4,200 miles on it for $75k cheaper than the 2010 I went to look at. The 2010 sold to the guy that traded my 07 in just a couple of days before I could get down there. I guess he saved me $75k!!
