USP Motorsports 997TT - 11.1 @ 127 with just APR software!!
Well, I finally took my 997 to the quarter mile the other night to officially break it in drag racing style. The track I went to is called Palm Beach International Raceway, located in Jupiter, Florida. When my guys and I got up there, it was late afternoon about 90 degrees ambient temp with heavy humidity.. Not like I really expected anything else out of a Florida summer, but I needed to get to the track. The only performance modifications I currently have done to the car, is the APR software. For those who may have not seen the thread, I recently did some dyno testing with the car and posted up the results here . When I got to the track, I loaded in the MS103 race gas and switched over to the APR 100 octane file. All runs on the night were done on MS103 gas and the APR race file, which comes with their software package available for the 997. First run of the night was an 11.3 @ 126.64 with a 1.76 60’. I was on the limiter in 4th gear almost 100 feet before the finish, so the next pass I tried shifting 5th. It ended up going the same ET, 11.3 with a 1.79 60’, but lost a mph from shifting back out of max powerband. So the next pass I decided to just keep it in 4th and go for best ET. I pulled off a 1.70 60’ and drove the car to its best 11.1 @ 127 pass. I personally wasn’t expecting the car to go this quick with nothing more than just a flash, so this thing really impressed me.. Especially with the weather generously rated in the mid to high 80’s. I'm going to see if I can have the tune modified to raise the rev limiter in 4th, so there is more room for expansion.
We have just started production on our race exhaust system for the 997, so the next track outing should yield even better results during testing. Then hopefully colder weather will come quickly, and I can really unlock the true potential! Just to put this out there, for those who may think this is a bit quick for just a flash, I have been drag racing for over 10 years with a lot of competitive experience. So that’s the only non standardized factor in the equation.

Def a great run! Id like to see what it does on pump gas.
Chris, nice job !
I wish I could have launched my 996 TT like you as this is hard to admit;
my car trapped over 134 mph at (3) different tracks and I managed a best ET of
11.03 (DOhhhhh !)

I had read elsewhere that if you upgrade the software that it's almost mandatory to upgrade the exhaust otherwise the egt would be too high after the tune, is that not true?

Great work Chris! Wow, I wish I can shift like that - care to elaborate on how you launched and shifted for best et? I am still struggling with my 6 speed...
