Have had my 2010 997.2 TT for a couple of months now. As is usual for me, I have been babying the car until I feel it has been broken in properly.
I love everything about the car except the mild exhaust note.

Now that I have just turned 1500 miles I have started to open it up a little more.
The combination of opening it up and the break in mileage has brought a very pleasant and welcome surprise.

THE EXHAUST IS STARTING TO SOUND LOUDER AND MORE EXOTIC.

I assume the packing in the muffler is breaking down a bit and the sound is getting better and better.

Hopeful that this improvement continues as I use it more and more.

 

Sounds even better in sports plus mode!

 

After car warms up it's always in SP mode.

But I'm talking about the sound improving in all modes overall.


Maybe not good to rush into certain mods so quickly....give the car a chance to settle in.

What mode does the car default in when you turn on the iginition?
Can you have it default in Sport plus mode?

 

At start up it is default regular mode. I don't turn on sports until the engine has warmed up.

But there is a distinct sound difference the moment you put in sports mode. (louder and deeper)

Funny thing about the exhaust ... Alex from sharkwerks was saying how good the stock exhaust sounded (under load) just the other day.

 

Does the "improved sound" apply to 997.1 as well?

Whats funny is this reminds me of a comment my wife had. She said something about me upgrading cars too often and said from now on I can't get any cars better than this one.

I said I"m fine with that!

 

She is right...Porsches engineering perfection is highly illustrated at PDK turbo car...It simply sets the limits at stock production sport cars...
