Quite a day
One more pic:

The cars are very different. The SL65 is comfortable, quiet, smooth, and very fast once it gets traction at around 70 MPH; the powerband never lets up or pauses. The S63 is much slower, also quiet and comfy and definitely a long sedan with sticky tires and good brakes. The 997 so far is the sports car of the bunch - stiff suspension, a bit bouncy and louder, and with the best grip and corner-exit power of the bunch. I'll need to wait until I finish break-in miles to give a full report.

Yah, this was a case of desire meeting opportunity. I was not driving the ZR1 very much. I still had fond memories of my Protomotive 997. I wandered into a Porsche dealer (it was across the street from my Jeep dealer) and they happened to have two Turbo S Cabs on the lot which they wanted to move. The ZR1 ad went onto the web that evening; it sold the next day, and we drove the Turbo home that afternoon.
And thanks for the reminder about clear turns, that was the first thing I changed on my '07.
How does the Tesla compare w/ the rest of your stable?
Just drove a friend's 997 turbo yesterday. He bought a ZR1 a few months ago after trading in his 996TTS. Hated the ZR1 and went back to a 911 turbo. I told him it was the right thing to do. Beautiful Atlas Gray with red interior plenty of CF and AWE upgrades. (flash/exhaust/headers/VTG billet wheels) BTW.... white FTW!! Very nice, enjoy it!
