Hello everyone, been lurking/reading/researching on the site for a little bit now, figured I'd make a formal introduction. My name is Dave and I'm addicted to Porsche Turbos
I'm looking at picking up my first Porsche turbo in the near future. Right now I have my eyes set on 2 different 2007 turbos, one in cali and one out east. Still have some things to work through before picking on one but hope to do so within the next month.
I did have one question though, why are there so many 07's for sale compared to other model years of the 997? I did read one thread on here about issues related but didn't find any exact reason. Just curious if I'm missing something.
thanks!

I'm assuming more 07's than 08+ simply because it's an older car. I had an 07 and now an 08 and not one thing different other than color and one more year on the warranty. Can't go wrong with any of the years just get the newest one you can afford that's all and WELCOME.
I've read threads on here that list production numbers. Porsche produced more '07 models than '08, but I believe there is no difference. Great cars...enjoy the search and the info on this site.
My 07 has be been fantastic. No issues for me. If you pick one up with low miles (garage queen) someone will be taking a big loss and its your gain.

07 and 08 are the same. 09 saw an upgrade to the PCM.
Welcome to the forum!
Thanks guys for the welcome and the info. Much appreciated.
As I mentioned there are 2 I'm looking at.
Both are 07's
One is 88K with 21K miles, 6spd. This is my first choice as it has all the color combos that I like in it.
The second is 79K with 29K miles, 6spd as well.
The local dealership just got in a nice black with a terracotta type color interior that I plan to go check out.
Do dealerships normally have the DME report available or is that something I will have to ask for when I decide?

If they are going to sell these cars as CPO I beleive they will perform the scan and perform the entire vehicle inspection that's part of the CPO process. It's my understanding that vehicles' have to meet certain specs to qualify...The dealer should be able to answer these questions for you. Whatever you do I wouldn't buy one without a warranty...CPO, aftermarket, etc...these are very well built/designed but are also very expensive to service/repair and the upfront cost for the CPO/Warranty is worth it.
Thanks guys for all the info.
Looks like the 07 on the East got sold, which is a bummer as it was exactly what i was looking for. Speed yellow, 6 spd
Went to look at the one at the local dealership. Turns out the car is on consignment and isn't currently CPO but could be.
Things are moving good for me to purchase something soon so I hope this one sticks around.
