Value of my car?
Value of my car?
I bought a black 2007 997.1tt w/ 21k miles in June of this year for $80k. It now has just under 23k miles. Its in excellent shape. I am currently getting some mod work done on it: protomotive turbos (the fully modified ones), werks 1 intercoolers, protomotive 2.75" exhaust, new plugs, injectors (that will support E85 conversion), new clutch w lightweight fly wheel, and protomotive custom dyno tune (one tune for 93/109 and another for E85). Also, i have an EZ extended warranty that covers door dings, and everything else (although w the mods not so sure about it). Also just had break pads replaced.
what do you think is the US market value of this car? i may have to sell it.

What gives?? Sorry you may have to give her up.
6spd, correct? Depending on factory options, my guess is around high 80's/maybe low 90's with the mods (as you may know, getting return on mods is 50% at best, even if they're relatively new).

My advice, return it to stock, pump the parts for 50 cents on the dollar, don't spend another cent on mods. That's you're only option to recoup some of your money. Sorry to say, but a modded turbo is a hard sell on the open market unless you find a like minded buyer. those kind of mods usually detract from the value, unless a Ruf imo.
As is, with the mods, 75k to a motivated buyer.
GL anyway.

Sorry to hear that you might have to sell it. If you decide to part out the modded parts there are a few of us that have been considering getting them - send me a PM if you're thinking of that.
The place that's doing my work also sells cars and there are already some interested customers. I'm not sure yet if i will have to sell it, so im just putting the word out there for now.
If there's any chance you are going to have to sell, stop the mods and wait. You'll never recover the cost of the mods and you'll have to find a very special buyer. Good luck - hope you don't have to sell.

in case anyone is interested, I do have a stock 997.1 exhaust for sale, as well as a stock exhaust with cats removed for sale. i need to get rid of them, so get them while they're hot. i have a post in the marketplace section for the exhaust with cat delete. Dont have one posted yet for the stock system.
Sorry to hear that you are selling that beast. Tough situation, aftermarket mods offer little value to the car as others have noted. The vast majority of buyers want a stock, un-modded car. Best bet is to sell off the parts unless you find the right buyer. The market for used Porsches is relatively small, the market for modified cars is even smaller. Best of luck with the sale.
How much do you want for the stock exhaust?

For the most part, I think you have your answer. Mods will add "some" price to the value, but you will never recoup what was invested in it - maybe 25 to 50% in the best case scenario.
That being said, ALL it takes is one buyer. I also agree that, your car will probably be worth 80k to 90k to the right buyer...depending on condition, additional enhancements, if or if you don't have ALL the stock parts available, etc..etc..
