Picked up a SL65

Well due to the fact I have a really cool wife, I got the green light to add the "fun car" to the stable. We picked up an 05 SL65, CPO w/ 3 years of warranty. Unfortunately it's in for (most likely) a dying intercooler pump, but nonetheless I'm very happy to have it. I'll admit it will be more of a garage queen, but now I have to clear out the other side of my garage so the Cayenne can go back in there...

Thanks all. I have some off the iphone but they are pretty crappy. I'll wait until it comes back (already had a sensor failure...) and snap some decent ones after I clay bar it.

Do you know of any sources for rotors for the car? The price is high enough for OEMs that I'd consider a Brembo kit when the time comes.

You do realize it has brembo calipers (its casted on the back). I cant prove that they are rotors are brembo but i can pretty much guaruntee that they are. They are 15" two peice rotors, you'd need bigger wheels to fit anything bigger not to mention they typically last 50k+ since most 65 owners dont work them very hard.

Nope - didn't know that (car is still new to me). It has about 37k miles on it and the rears are grooved a bit. The fronts have a small lip on the outer circumference to you can see they are wearing. I'm not daily driving it, so they should go another year or so.

Whats the maintainance like on these things? I wanted to pick p a S63 but my service adviser scared me away with the price of a brake job (close to $4000).

I remember quoting a brake job a while back for a CLS55 with 030(?) ceramic brake option. The front rotors alone were 1K a piece.

Join the MB Club of America for $45 and most dealers give a 20% parts discount.
Makes the rotors downright affordable.
