$3,700 for CF overlay??? They crazy! If you are not interested in weight savings there are much cheaper options like CF vinyl wrap. There is a thread somewhere where they did this on the seats.
It would be interesting to know the cost of the basic hood from Porsche. How much extra are they charging for the overlay?

You can buy a total Carbon Fiber Hood from one of the sponsors here for $3,155.00. Made by SpeedArt.

OK, so the idea of a wrap sounds interesting. So, help me to decide and vote for your preference.
1. Do nothing - fine the way it is.
2. cf dry
3. cf glossy
4. matte black smooth finnish
5. glossy black smooth finnish
6. get drunk

SpeedArt Carbon Fiber. It is the real thing made by a VERY reputable German Company. It is sold by a sponsor here that, while I've never dealt with them, A lot of people have and seem very happy.
First get drunk. Always good.
Then I would do wrap. You seem to be a person who is likely to be changing their mind... :-) No offense meant.
Glossy black is out of the question. It has to be matte. And the matte carbon wrap in the pics above is very very close to the look of the matte black - just a tone or two more in the grey, which will look great on meteor. The added bonus of the carbon is that you cant really tell from far, but up close it looks great.
Go for the carbon matte finish. Heck in a few months you can change it... its $350.
Since we are on the same color basis, and I am toying with matte black (painted wheels, changed rear script - thanks Eric - , ordered dual tips ceramic coated black) you should consider doing half mirrors as well, and maybe the rear ducts on the hips ala GT2RS, and top of the rear spoiler...
Good luck and post pics!!!

Nick,
Yes, love the meteor and never thought that I'd go for a grey car.
Think that matte finnish is way to go and I plan to get samples of different colors and finnishes. I'm also considering the real cf in dry.
One thing that concerns me is that Boston is a very conservative area and the car for around here is pretty close to the edge and I'm not sure if cf hood will push it over the top!
