Amazing perk for new Mercedes-Benz AMG owners

Content provided by BenzInsider.com
Want to feel what it's like to drive on a racetrack? Well then, suit yourself... up. For every purchase or lease of a new Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicle, you will have an exclusive opportunity to race a real AMG car on a real racetrack, compliments of Mercedes-Benz and their dedicated tuning company AMG. Their main aim is to make owners aware of what their new car is truly made of, and what it is capable of outside of public roads.
This new perk of owning a Mercedes-Benz AMG car will start in the U.S. as early as on the first day of January next year. It comprises one full day of an adrenaline pumping track program that will teach owners the basics dynamics of performance driving. No less than AMG's expert driving instructors will take you on an AMG Driving Academy learning coarse to teach you the basics of handling your car through custom mid and high speed exercises that'll span the entire length of the race track.
The new program by Mercedes-Benz USA comes in time for the world debute of the 2012 CLS63 AMG, as well as the christening of Lime Rock Park as the third track to accommodate a new AMG Driving Academy season.

Wish they offered this when I bought my AMG. The best deal I got for an AMG academy was a whole $200 off the $3,500 price for the AMG academy at Laguna Seca.

I'm pretty sure the buyer needs to have purchased the driver's package in order to take advantage of this offer. Can anyone confirm that?

Further investigation shows nothing indicating the requirement above on the Driving Academy web page FAQ's. There's a potential big hitch for me personally though -- their info states that you can only have taken delivery AFTER Dec. 31. I got my new CL63 AMG right before Thanksgiving. I'll be totally bummed if they won't consider my purchase eligible.

Pretty sure the CLK63 Black Series are no longer part of the program. They've been retired.

Let us know how it goes because I don't see any other catches either.

Wrote the Driving Academy a note re: my situation asking if there was any wiggle room. That was several days ago and I have yet to hear from them. Something tells me they're not gonna give a crap and I'm SOL. Kind of a crappy attitude to have toward someone who's bought 10 MBZ's since 1980 and who just dropped a pantsload of $$ on this new one.
