Found this today. I don't think it has been posted yet:

Yea, I already posted in the American section, but it will probably get more interest over here.

Cool. The driver took the left sweeper on the back straight at 182mph.

Not quite the champ, but close, the GT2 RS is 7:18.

But still awesome nonetheless. And by an engineer no less.

But both could still be on borrowed time if the new ACR makes it over there and gets more than a few laps.

Ah, I know it went 7.24 but didn't know they had Timo run it to 7:18. Lets put Walter Rohrl in the driver's seat of the ZR1 and see what it does!

i am getting sick of these useless Ring time contests.
How can anyone take these times, whether it´s posted by a Porsche, Viper, Corvette etc. for real?
i mean since there is no one there who is independently controlling what´s really going on, there is lots of room to cheat, lie, manipulate etc etc.
It really has become a joke contest!

It was cool back in the day when manufacturers just reported the times. Then Nissan contaminated the pool with their blowing the whole thing out of proportion all out assault on the ring with questionable ring times and top speeds given the hp of the car.

I still enjoy seeing the times, except for Nissan because they are liars.

it was kinda cool once, agreed, but now it is a pool of misinformation, promotion, cheating and lying. i still love the Ring and i am there whenever some important race is on but this whole Ring Time Contest has become blah-blah-blah.
