*FRAUD* CARS.COM 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

I am not sure (I am sure it isn't) if this is the right place to post but I figured ppl in search mode like myself will check here often...

When something is too good to be true ..it OFTEN is. I thought I found the PERFECT car at the PERFECT (too perfect) price

2007 Porsche 911 Turbo - $52,700

I contacted the guy... GOT 1 semi-believable email from
ronald.glessner@msn.com (with carfax) :
The car is still for sale. The asking price is $52,700. It is located in Kansas City, MO and the VIN is WP0AD29997S784442. The car is registered on my name and the title is clear (no lien). It is in great condition, no dents or scratches. It was always garaged and the regular maintenance was done in time. It wasn't involved in any accident and has never suffered any kind of damage. Also this is a non-smoker car. I've attached photos and the carfax report. If you have any questions regarding the car just let me know!
I had a buyer offering $54,000 and I've lost about 2 weeks waiting for him to pay just to find out in the end that his loan wasn't approved. I've lowered the price because I'm in desperate need of cash it's either the car or the house so if you don't need a loan you can have it.
I'm currently signed up for a protection program offered by Google Checkout and I would like to close the deal through them. If you are not aware of this program you should know that it will allow you to test drive and inspect the car before paying me. You will have a 7-day inspection period to decide whether you want to keep the car or not before they release the funds to me.

If you are still interested and have cash just send me your Google id (www.GoogleCheckout.com) and I'll ask them to fill you in with the transaction details.

Look forward hearing from you.
Ronald Glessner

I Googled and researched and found the real Ronald Glessner .Called his office and right of was his secretary said it was fraud and someone is using his name with a bunch of fake exotic cars ...

I was going to ask the board members if this was too good to be true but I did not want anyone to grab it before I did ... But since I found out what I found..I wanted to share w/ you guys so that you guys dont get caught in the same pink dream I did ...

Back to my search and MODS feel free to move to the appropriate place ..

"semi-believable" is a little strong. It is never believable when they ask you to send them information to close the transaction in the first email the send.

Report him on cars.com as well so that they can shut down his ads once they investigate things further.

the cars.com listing says the car is owned by someone named Nathan with contact info for him...did you ever talk to Nathan? There are enough red flags here to start a Ferrari fan club

Does this fraud work by scamming people out of a deposit? I guess anyone can just walk to up a car and write down the vin and take some pictures to post for sale.

I had the same guy (or guys) try to pull one on me with a 2009 R8 that was too good to be true as well. They even tried the "I have a wife dying of cancer bit" bit! A--holes!!

The car is still listed on Cars.com, but the contact is now listed as "Nathan". Says KCMO, but the phone # listed has a 360 area code (Bellingham, Vancouver, Aberdeen, Olympia and western Washington except Seattle area) Could be a relocated cell phone, but who knows.

Should send an email to cars.com to have it shut down, some poor soul will probably lose their deposit. Not everyone are as smart as car forum members. You see these scams all the time so somebody out there thinks its worth scamming fools.
