Fabspeed MSP 958 Cayenne Secondary Catbypass Pipes
Fabspeed MSP 958 Cayenne Secondary Catbypass Pipes
Fabspeed Motorsport designed replacement "bypass" pipes for the unnecessary set of catalytic converters on the new Cayenne Turbo and Cayenne S vehicles. All Porsche Cayenne vehicles have a secondary set of catalytic converters that are very restrictive and not OBDII logged. These can be replaced to improve the sound and power, with no Check Engine Lights thus being safe for emissions. The Fabspeed secondary catbypass pipes can be installed with the OEM muffler or any aftermarket muffler, and is a direct replacement with no cutting or welding required for installation.
958 Porsche Cayenne Secondary Catbypass Pipes
- 14-16 gauge, C.N.C. mandrel bent polished T304 stainless steel tubing for maximum flow and improved power.
- Direct replacement for the unnecessary set of secondary catalytic converters.
- Saves 24lbs/11kg from underneath your Cayenne.
- Complies with emissions and no Check Engine Light.
- WURTH hardware included in system.

Thanks for posting...heard a lot of compliments on your system.
I'm certainly interested in this mod, but i would prefer to not significantly increase the internal cabin noise under normal load or at cruising speed. While obviously subjective, how much increase in sound is heard in the cabin with secondary cat bypass?

I added the Fabspeed downpipes a few months ago on my 2011 CTT and highly HIGHLY recommend it. Sounds like a GTS from outside, and the interior sound is great. No drone, not overly loud, not obnoxious. Sounds "GTS"ish. Overall very pleased with such a simple and relatively cost effective mod.
From the research I've done, these pipes are fantastic for turbos..
For the GTS you have to enjoy a fairly loud exhaust... because the GTS is a little louder stock anyhow.
I may pull the trigger on these someday, but for now, I'm still on the fence... not sure I want my GTS to be that aggressive. If I had a turbo, I would have done it. (or even an S for that matter, because again, I think their exhaust is quieter.)

I would have to imaging there would have to be some increase in cabin sound if it is increasing the sound outside. From what I have read, it makes the existing sound "louder", doesn't change the existing tone as much. If you want the deeper "burble", then probably an after market exhaust.

I was thinking the same thing. To me the sound inside of the turbo is healthy enough.

I added these same Fabspeed secondary cat bypass pipes to my 958 Cayenne GTS in September. The GTS, of course, has Sport Exhaust. I'm very pleased.
It does start up loudly. I think the control logic opens up the Sport Exhaust wide for start up, then shuts it back down to non-Sport.
In non-Sport Exhaust, there is hardly any noticeable difference.
Then switching Sport Exhaust ON, there is a major increase in volume and emphasis on pops & gurgles during downshifts and throttle list.
Rather than try to describe anything further, I would suggest you watch this Fabspeed video. The sound is 100% accurate to what I have with my GTS:
I think I read somewhere that they claim a 10-12 HP increase. No way to prove that and on the 420 HP GTS it represents less than a 3% HP increase. So it would not be noticeable. BUT, i can assure you that the car is NOT slower or less-quick and the aural sensation is a lot of fun. So, YES, absolutely quicker to my seat-of-the pants dynamometer.

Thanks for your input. Very helpful.
Did you do the install yourself or have a muffler shop do it?
I talked to a local shop and they said they are not allowed to remove catalytic converters due to liability reasons.
Also any issues with the CEL with this install?

Muffler shop. Ask your guy if you can pay him in cash and meet him there at 5:30 in the morning.
Can't speak to the GTS but we have 2 - 2011 Cayenne Turbos. Mine has the Fabspeed Bypass Pipes & my wife's does not. The interior noise difference is noticeable but on a level of 1 to 10, with 1 being no difference, I'd put it at a 3. I love them and not very expensive. Highly recommended.
I wish there was a video with it driving around with the sport "OFF". That's more realistic for me for daily driving.
I know it's loud with the Sport Button "ON" but I only use that 3% of the time I'm driving... I'd like to hear the other 97%, not just revving at idle.

Likely can't find a better comparison and perspective!
Thanks

I agree that's gotta be the best compare. Thanks for the feedback, it looks like I might get these shortly.
I've also looked at your garage and
, I'm jealous
