Aventador vs GT2RS vs SLS (Vid)
Fantastic car, but sexy does not come to mind when looking at her. I'll keep my 997. (Is it bad that I can't read your posts with out having to check in with your avatar four times-you envy my 996-?)

happy hollidays.

The Aventador has been timed at 10.50's @ 133-135 mph, so this is not a suprising result. As far as stock production cars go there are only a handful of cars that will beat it in a drag race. That's what aftermarket mods are for, to even things up a bit.

Aventador is the first car of this new generation really interesting for me:
All the 458, 997TTS, GTRs etc... with their fast gearboxes and launch systems do their outsdanding times only because of their gearboxes, their engines are "poor"... (I tried all them)
I tried Enzo which engine is fine but gearbox slow, I would prefer it with a good manual tranny, but its times only come from the engine there, so I like, feeling is good.
That said, Aventador is the first car in this gen with a REAL engine, so combined with the actual "fashionable" gearboxes, times are from beyond!
I dislike the 991, so I don't wait for the turbo; I'm a bit afraid by the carbon body of the Lambo, but it is for now the favourite to be the next in my garage...
(near my actual P cars, not instead of!)

A fair competition, but not a fair test. I think a Turbo S woudl have been more competitive here. Porsche is behind the times a bit and caught in a quandary. Their most powerful engine is the GT1 motor which is obviously a time proven anvil of an engine but doesn't mate to the new PDK. Additionally, manual Porches pretty much suck for drag racing due to the cable operated shifter. The .2 S motor PDK combo is a full .8 seconds faster to 60 while giving up 90 HP...
Finally, Porche seems stuck at the 500 ft/lb of torque mark for now. maybe the trannys need to catch up?
Here is one thing I know for sure. The Porsche engineers are pissed off right now. Revenge will come in the form of a PDK turbo or GT2 with launch control. Porsche is slow to evolve until they get embarrassed. Just look at the GTR/Turbo S race.
My wish is for an 8,000+RPM turbo flat 6 from Porsche. 6700-7000 RPM is so 1990
