HID headlight bulbs and HID fog lights LED DRL 997 turbo
Has anyone tried USP Motersports HID fog light 8000k upgrades?
I have read 6000k is the best upgrade bulb for a 997 turbo. Can 10000k or 12000k work? I would like a nice bright blue tint. Any ideas?
I see Agency Power has DRL to replace the LED blinkers. How long does it take to remove the front bumper?
Thank you

[quote=Bozz30;3472949]I just re-read you original message - sorry, I thought you were asking about headlamps. I've not done this but I understand that some folks use the whiter PIAA (or other types) bulb as a replacement in the fogs. I believe the factory headlamp D2S is 4800 so the 6000 looks better in my opinion.

6000K will make the factory HID look dull and yellowish. I got 6K headlamp and love the color. However, output is less than that of OEM 4300K.

Agreed. I only use 6000K HID temperatures in all my vehicles. Any higher kelvin gets to blue/purple and light output is reduced.
I run 6000k too - much better look, but on occasion on a rainy dark night it does seem like output is a little less than OEM. I would imagine that anything more would be real bad in illuminating anything, AND SUPER DANGEROUS.
You can find Philips D2S 6000K on eBay or Hoen-USA offers an equivalent. If you already have HID lamps you just replace the bulb - instructions in owner's manual - very easy. Google Philips D2S 6000
most of the higher kelvin Philips bulbs, such as the 85122wx, aka their 6000k d2s bulb are mostly fake when buying through eBay. Generally the genuine version of these will fetch around 200 bucks a set, which is why china made a knock off version and now lots of people are selling em. Buyer beware!
As some mentioned, the higher the kelvin of the bulb, the lower the lumen rating- so beyond the factory 4300k, you're incrementally sacrificing light output for color
When shopping for foglight hid systems, since our 997's use projectors you will need a H3C instead of a regular H3 hid since the h3c is shorter, the only one that will fit inside the optics of the projector. For good performance in bad weather, go for a warmer kelvin like 3000k- since the yellow light will penetrate through particles in the air better than a whiter light will, which would just bounce off it.
Cheers!

I'm from an automotive lighting company, there are factories in China that spam us on a daily basis offering these bulbs for around $12/set
This is from another company, but its really a great guide on spotting the fakes
