Cleaning HRE Wheels

Does anybody have any suggestions as to how often and with what products you use to clean HRE wheels? I have p40s that I just got which have a brushed clear finish. I don't want the brake dust cause the clear coat to get eaten away and result in a hazy finish like I had on a prior car. Thanks.

Griots garage - the big wheel brush and car wash soap works wonders for my brushed p40's.

I was really impressed with the video from an Armorall product!!

I still cant get this in Greece, and I would love to try it, it seems so impressive!

I think it is worth a shot.

Oh and that guy on the video cracks me up. Watch it HERE

Here is the quick version. Note the smirk!

I use either Griot's or sonax wheels cleaners but honestly any quality car wash is fine. Sonax is nice though as I just spray and wash it away with miminal scrubbing needed.

The finish is strong so don't sweat it

I always suggest throwing down a coat of wax on the wheels when they are completely clean. That will help you with a little brake dust and things wipe away a bit easier as well...

Were in North County SD, Make sure you drop in from San Clemente if you need anything

Simple Green in a spray bottle and a nice brush works as well as any high end cleaner
I've ever tried. Have tinted clear HRE P40's on my car.

Sonax will stain your wheels if you leave it on too long. P21s wheel cleaner is the best wheel cleaner I've tried and it will not damage your wheels.

Simple Green, over time, will not be good for any finished wheel. It cleans extremely well due to it's acidity, but even diluted, it's going to take it's toll on the finish over time. Use one of the other cleaners mentioned. Griots makes a good regular wheel cleaner as noted, and they have a new heavy duty cleaner that's good for those times when the brake dust gets away from you.
