On hold pending funds! Thanks Matt.

No worries Dario, I'll get you another one if you're looking. This one was a steal as I typically pay 10 for them wholesale but someone owed me and they paid with this.

Big time! If you can get them for list I will buy countless pieces from you at $8,500.

I have a waiting list at times and I struggle to get them for much less than I sold this one at. It's not easy but I have a big network and people know I buy them so they turn to me for a quick no hassle sale.

Just curious, are they that marked up at the dealers too? Or are individuals waiting patiently and buying them for msrp and flipping them at huge profits? A friend of my dad's is a "fine" watch dealer up in RI. He gave me a couple of the trade magazines. One of them has a big write up on the daytona. Sweet watch. Only one I've seen that I would consider dumping my two tone sub for.

Well, it depends. Most dealers hold them for their VIP clients but once you get one you're done. I have my personal one from my dealer. Some dealers sell them at $10-11K when available or sell them to other dealers (like myself) for $9,500 etc. All in all if you have no connections anywhere you can forget paying $7,100. I only ever bought two of them at $6,000, one I kept and one I sold to another dealer at $9,500 the next day. If I could get them that cheap regularly I'd sell my other businesses.

Gil forgot to say that authorized dealers are not allowed to sell new ones above MSRP. So the ones they sell for 11k are "used" watches. Basically just give them to customers and turn around and buy them back. Similiar to what Ferrari does with the 360 spyders.

WRONG!!! Jarod, you are speculating my friend. Rolex dealers do quite often sell them for markups. Rolex publicly states that they do not control the final sales price and that the MSRP is only a "suggestion" although the US trade laws require them to adhere to that. Weather or not they strong arm the dealers under the table is another story. The fact of the matter is that many dealers DO mark up popular models!
