Looking at buying a 12/13 new Turbo

Wanted to see what I should be paying for a 2012 brand new Turbo, black on black. Sticker is 146k. They also have a 2013 black on black, sticker is 154k. Going to trade in my R8 which is my daily driver along with the 458 I have. I was thinking that there should be some real discounts on the 2012 with the new body style coming out sometime next year, which Ill probably end up trading this turbo in for. Which one would you guys go with, the 12 or 13? Also, what type of discount do you think Id be looking at?

All of this does not add up to being a price sensitive consumer. You are buying a brand new car that will be replaced with a new model in one year - you will probably lose your *** on this deal no matter what. Plus, trading in an R8 and a 458 gives the dealer two chances to low ball you and confuse the purchase agreement. Just my opinion.

Not trading in the 458, sorry for the confusion. Just the R8. They offered me 10k off the sticker on the turbo

This is tough area being so close to the new release. So many variables, but trading your R8 for 991 Turbo seems like the winner to me. Your 458 should keep you plenty busy while you wait

I got 10% off MSRP on my '13 turbo back in October '12, so you should be able to do much better than that now

Yes discounts are getting substantial however 2011's still better overall 'value'.
Most of the new 2013 TTS's for sale are convertibles which doesn't help the cause.

Best,

J

For that kind of money, i.e., the 154K, you're getting close to turbo S pricing which gives you more bang for the buck, except with S, you're stuck with pdk.

Expect nothing for your car on this car. You are better off selling your car. Just as a point of reference I bought a 2012 TTS Basalt Black on Black coupe on January 3rd with 2700 miles and 3 years left on the warranty for $138K. The car was mint not a scratch on the car. Heated seats & clear LED taillights were the only add-ons. Tough to find an S these days. They were asking $152K. Plan on getting the new S as soon as they can be ordered but I just didn't want to wait until 2014. BTW the S is a beast. GL.

i'm looking at a new '13 tt as well. MT is important to me, and I have a reliable source that tells me no MT option on the 991tt or tts.

I'm negotiating, but 10-20% off MSRP seems to be what I hear.

by the way - why is cabrio less desirable?

less weight, more structurally sound, better for tracking, etc. Personally, I've owned convertibles in the past and barely put the top down, so the extra expense for a cabrio isn't worth it for me. Also, I prefer the looks of the coupe vs the cabrio with the top up
