Earlier this month Performance Power Racing's Ford GT hit 283.3 mph, their '04 Z06 went 252 mph, days ago Sean Kennedy hit 263.3 at the Texas Mile also in a Ford GT, then yesterday Kelly Bise ran 263.2 mph in his '02 Camaro. Looks like the domestics are shutting down the competition.

Comparitively speaking, very good results out of the small blocks. However, how long has UGR been working the Lamborghini's compared to LMR with the small blocks? I love the competition and how far the Texas mile has come. Back when the event first started it was a show to see a car break 210 mph. Last year it was a show to break 250 mph. Who knows the way this event is going on, NFS will be more realistic with cars hitting north of 300 mph in the mile. The biggest issue I see is, Texas Mile event holders need to increase the shutdown area. From the views in the videos, the instant the mile run is shutdown, they are hard on the brakes with the shutes pulled and a lot are still hitting the gravel patch at the end. This was evident in the Hayabusa video that went 278 mph.
I am however still on the UGR side as they are the newest players in the game. Plus, they are running Lamborghini's. I just wish someone with tuned BMW's were hitting these numbers.
