WOW those v8TTs put some major power down.

 

With almost 100 more horsepower and 180 more torque what do you expect? Really fast car.

 

and w/o the friction of AWD.

 

997T is RWD unless the rear tires are spinning

Lots of power with the modded E63, but on a road course the Porsche is going to have the upper hand. I've always owned MB's, and they are great passenger cars, but they are definitely not track cars. Even with the increased power, I'd still choose the Porsche. Maybe if they made a turbo kit for the old war horses like mine, I'd feel differently.

 

AMG did their HW with the new V8TT, its a sleeper for sure.

Would not have turned out that way on a 1/4 mile drag strip though!

Have the 911 get an exhaust /tune and re-run!

 

Yea fast in a straight line, I learned those Mercs are HEAVY beyond enjoyment. Now drop some coils and springs on the benz and you have a car!

 

Its the drag of the awd parts (frictional) that slows it down. That cant be eliminated. And last I saw the TT was only capable of 95% rear. But that was the .1 TT.

 

the renntech folks can really wring out those AMG out. He is probably well over 700 if he has 580 to the wheels, as they are an auto. The torque number is probably staggering
