997.1 TT cab exhausts system drama?

So I pulled the trigger and bought a 2009 PORSCHE 911 TURBO CABRIOLET in AQUA BLUE METALLIC / SEA BLUE on Monday. (The car of my dreams)

The car was sold to me with the following description in the options..
THIS ONE HAS HAD THE FACTORY GIAC ECU UPGRADE

EVOLUTION MOTORSPORTS HIGH FLOW CATS
TUBI EXHAUST SYSTEM
FACTORY 997 TT LOWERING SPRINGS

In reality after taking my car into Porsche yesterday for a Tire pressure sensor and a yearly checkup they notified me that I had a “race exhausts with no CATS at all with the O2 sensors extended to avoid Check engine lights”.

It’s hard to tell but I think I have a Tubi Race Exhaust for 997TT based on what I see now vs. the pictures on SHARKWERKS site.(http://www.sharkwerks.com/products.php?pid=227)

While I live in Florida where there are no emissions checks I worry that this is a serious problem if I ever want to sell the car?

Am I overreacting to the missing CATS?
Am I the only person running no CATS on the street in states without emission testing?

I would appreciate any advice that the forum can give.

Aside from exhaust gases, there should really be no issues with the mechanics of the car. If you sell the car in the future, especially to someone out of state, the buyer may take issue at the cost of replacing cats for the inspection portion of emissions testing.

what are "factory 997 TT lowering springs"?

Didn't realize porsche offered OEM lowering springs. can others confirm or is this another possible misrepresentation regarding the seller of this car.

I now suspect they are this item below.....

Agreed. It appears that they like to blur to differences between Champion Motorsport (aftermarket tuner) and Champion Porsche (factory dealer).

After a few phone calls it seems like the cost to put cats back on this car will be close to $4650.00

What to do .....? Will i miss the extra HP that i have already come to love?

Either way this car is such a blast and "thank you" to forum for all the info that guided me to this purchase!

Don't worry about catless issue. Believe me you are not the only one running catless on the Florida streets, especially in Orlando.

Doubtful there is even one Supra, Evo, or STi running around Orlando with a a catted exhaust.

Unless the exhaust fumes annoy you, there's no need to replace them with a catted exhaust. BUT if it is an issue, I may soon have a Miltek exhaust (with HJS cats) for you if your are ever interested.

Enjoy the ride. Aqua/Cobalt Blue is a really standout color!
