New Owner of a 997 Turbo Switzer with a Question...
Hi all, first off let me introduce myself. My names Joe, I'm a dealer of high end cars in Houston Tx. Ive owned a few personal cars but i usually just drive something in the inventory. However every so often a car comes in that i cant pass up. Ive owned a C6 Z06, 13 GTR, (Sold Both) and I've had a 2011 R8 V10 Spider for a year now. Last week a guy came in and traded in a 2008 911 Turbo 997.1 Switzer P600, Meteor Grey on Coco Brown Interior Optioned out to infinity. I couldn't resist the car and ended up selling my Raptor and making it my DD. Ive only had the car for a week now and all i can say is "WOW
"
Ive never owned a Porsche but now i know why people have such high attractions to them. Incredibly fast and comfortable. It actually has a soul something my GTR never had.
* My question - Sorry if this is already covered, searching didn't bring up what i was searching for, The 997.1 Turbo has yellowish day time running lights on the outside edge of the blinkers. I want to change the bulb for an Led to match the head lights. Also just to make it look updated and more aggressive. Has anyone done this ? How do i get to the Bulb ? and will the LED last since that light is on 98% of the time ?
Thanks In advance, i look forward to being a member on the forum

Congrats on your purchase. Take a look at your manual for instructions on removing the lens. Reference link below on a good source for LED upgrades.

Here you go.

I installed mine a month ago and do like the look. Not sure how long they will last but I would suspect quite a while and if not they are only $25 for the pair.

Thanks for the Replies guys, A friend owns an HID/LED lighting shop. he has the bulbs in stock i just didn't know if i could remove the lenses and swap them real quick or if it was a sealed light or removing the bumper or what not. Im buying 3 pair, 1 for the License plate, 1 for the clear side markers, and 1 for the Parking lights.

Joe, congrats on the car! I saw the same car listed on Motorwerks website. Looks like it has a ton of upgrades. To answer your question, you can very simply remove the blinker in the front and replace the wedge bulb on the end with a LED one. If you look underneath the blinkers (have to get on your knees and look up), you will see a screw. Just take that off and it'll pull out. The only thing to watch out for is to make sure your LED bulb isn't too long or else it will hit the inner clear housing and you won't be able to button it up.
Congrats on the car again... if you need any exterior mods, hit me up! I am have done a handful of fellow houston 6speeders' cars and can get you squared away on the exterior side of things

And i will keep you in mind, not sure what i want to do yet. Being i Probably wont have her longer than 6 Months, however i do wanna make her a little more unique
Only car il losse money on is the R8 Spider, but i have no plans on ever selling that car. I drive it non-stop, Amazing car!
Thanks a Million ! Im picking up the bulbs in a little and will try to install them tonight. Another question how do the side markers pop off ? I don't want to just go yanking on them!

The side markers is just as easy. Stick a screwdriver into the hole in the fender liner behind the light and pop it out. The owners manual will show how to take it out... very easy to do.
Understood on keeping the car only for a short time. Like you said... if you're going to keep it (even for a little bit), why not enjoy every minute of it

Just fyi, if interested, click the link in my signature for my build thread (look for latest pics on page 2) to see a sample of what products we offer
Whatever you decide, congrats on the car!Edwin
Wish i could, but as a Dealer myself I'm not in the business of loosing money on cars haha. However 6 Months down the road i will be getting another Turbo you can bet that!!
