Is the CPO Price Negotiable?

In the process of purchasing a pre-owned TT from a Porsche dealer. Vehicle had 5000 miles currently and is not listed with CPO.

Seems that we would be in a stronger negotiating position to purchase the CPO as part of the vehicle purchase rather than adding it ala carte at a later date.

If this strategy is prudent what would be considered a 'good deal' for the CPO?

All thoughts most appreciated.

Best,

Jay

Everything is negotiable. The more you add to the overall cost, the more room they have to cut a deal.

You didn't say what model year - it may not be CPO if it's still under original factory warranty.

What's considered a 'deal' for a CPO?

jhbrennan its a model year 2011. The listing states:
"its warranty coverage will start from
the in service date." with no mention of CPO. I plan to keep this vehicle for 4+ years.

Well...that's why it's not offered as a CPO - it already has the factory warranty.

So it's not possible to add a CPO on a vehicle that is covered by an existing factory warranty?
This is what Porsche describes on their website.

CPO Warranty coverage:

Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty covers up to 6 years, or a cumulative 100,000 miles, from the original in-service date (whichever occurs first), if the vehicle is still under the new car limited warranty at the time of purchase.
For vehicles no longer under the new vehicle limited warranty at the time of used retail delivery, Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty coverage extends until the earlier of:
• 2 years from the date of used retail delivery
OR
• 50,000 miles from the mileage at used retail delivery, but not to exceed a cumulative 100,000 total miles on the vehicle

Sure...obviously dealer is choosing not to offer the car as CPO. There's a cost involved likely to be recovered in the sell process but it really doesn't make the car that easier to sell since it already has a warranty. But if you'll sleep better at night with a longer warranty, by all means ask what they would charge to add CPO coverage - probably $2K to $3K more than current asking price...but as someone already said - everything is negotiable. Is this your first car purchase?

Got it. Since its a 2011 and only had approx. 2 years of factory coverage left it is of piece of mind.
No, not first vehicle purchase however relatively inexperienced in regards to CPO's.

Many thanks,

J
