I will repaint my car

Hello guys

My car is opaque black,it has been 5 years since i first got my car.Paint is not in a good condition and is a pain in the *** to keep clean,i want a change.

So far i have 3 color options, all are blue by the way.

1-Monterrey blue(lambo color)
2-Aqua blue metallic
3-Cobalt blue metallic

I heard that aqua replaces cobalt,i have never seen any of them in person but in pictures cobalt looks brighter.

Monterrey blue looks out of this world. It has some purple hue in it.
But i don't know the paint code.
Very deep color

I would stick with a Porsche color personally but thats just my opinion. I am definitely a fan of aqua blue.

Sounds cool. I would love to see some pics of these colors, even if on other cars. I don't think sticking with a Porsche color will matter that much. Having a respray is going to run off potential buyers the same way terrible looking original paint will. The only way a Porsche color will help is if you were trying to hide the fact that it was painted, which is shady.

What would a project like this cost? I'm assuming a top notch paint job.... ?

What about just a wrap that lasts a few years?

Wrap is not as deep as a real color. There is no aqua blue car here,so i think it will be interesting for me and for potential future buyers.

Aqua

Cobalt

In some images it may be hard to see the difference. Aqua has more 'blue' in it, Cobalt a bit less....both are stunning colors.

instead of repainting the whole car why not save yourself a lot of $ and go with a wrap? It will be less then half the cost and you will be able to keep the original color under the wrap which may help when/if you ever decide to sell your car.

If you repaint the whole car go with a strange triple-layer paint.. Like Ferrari special paints.. Dont place a usual colour.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/2600278...7627063541463/

You can find any colour.. I have Nero Setoso colour on my 458. It is a special black 2layer paint..

If you are going to repaint your car, and retain it's value for the future, you need to do it right. And while the body is apart, you can also consider carbon fiber components to help lighten the load. It can be a very expensive process, but can be done right.

good point, but what's the estimated cost of doing it right?

just curious because while it may not have value for the next buyer, it may still have value for the OP in terms of enjoying the car and keeping it for another 5+ years.

For the OP, I am not familiar with all the colors you mentioned but if you're going to invest in this project I would recommend choosing a shade of blue that is unique and not seen on every porsche. I personally love the light blue on the GT3 RS.

Since you're going to repaint I'd also seriously consider the vorsteiner body kit. I know it adds $$$ but if I was going to do a full repaint I would justify the added cost and go real BIG

Aqua contains a variety of tints, including

Aluminum flake
Blue Pearl
Midnight Blue Pearl
Black

No 'purple' but plenty of blues.

If you really want that purple pop, consider Iris Blue, WOW:

The Iris Blue is a beautiful color - dark metallic blue with hints of purple
