renting 997.1tt to friend

A friend wants to rent the car for 3 months. I think it's probably a bad idea, but wanted to get everyone's thought.

It'd be under my insurance. If I were to go ahead and do it, how much should I charge? How should I think about wear and tear/consumables?

Thanks

Good idea but it is illegal since money is changing hands.
your insurance will NOT cover it if anythin is exchanged.

This is how most rental companies work is borrow a friends car and rent it out and if there is an accident they make the renter say they are friends and were just borrowing it.

Tell him to go rent it from a rental car place. Sounds like a bad idea. I could see another tread coming. "My friend wrecked my turbo and the insurance refuse to pay, what should I do?"

Sure - go ahead...if you don't really value your friendship. Be sure to ask your insurance company how to add your friend as an insured party. Think worse case and how you would protect yourself and your assets.

Now that you are starting to see the many negatives, what exactly are the positives?

Wow I wish I had a friend like you. Let me rent it for a day and see how it goes lol. All kidding aside. There are a lot of bads that can happen and not any goods from what I see. Def a bad idea not worth losing a friend over either if something were to ahppen

you're a car pimp if you do. Do you think only your friend is going to "have" her ? Would you still do her after that ?

Your friend will never treat it in the exact same way as you do. This will probably turn out negatively.
Also the risk of (minor) damage is real and you can loose your frienship and a lot of money over it.
That's why I personally never drive a friend's car, I could never forgive myself if something happens....

Your talking about subleasing, which is prohibited by Pfs.
Your insurance would likely void in any accident situation as well, I'd stay clear of this deal.
