If you are referring to this:

the tool is useless without a 9X12 Hazet extension bar that attaches to it.

You would be better off finding a cheaper spanner. Places like samstag tools carry it.

Nick, I did not have success with the strap - I needed a pin to insert into the hydraulic cylinder to spin the entire assembly. Did it work for you?

This is samstag's AMF tool for the 996TT - I'm fairly certain it fits the 997TT.

I think this way is more secure than the strap right?

If you look at the above photo of the hydraulic actuator, the outside chrome cylinder has a hole that needs to line up with the inner black cylinder. If you use a strap, I found that the outer cylinder just spins, and does turn the inner cylinder to not unscrew from the wing.

Yes I saw that... So the best and cheapest option is the tool from FVD right?

Thank you BBYWU

Samstag's tool is $15.54, but you'll have to double check to make sure it fits a 997TT. I'm pretty sure the diameter of the actuator is the same on both cars.

I bought the zdmak version for about $20 and it had a rubberized handle that doesn't scratch. That boa strap looks like it would be good for rotating the outer collar once the spoiler was attached (so that spiders or whatever don't get in!). OP, if you haven't ordered anything yet I can post the link for the zdmak one.

Why not just cruise up to Champion and let the pros do it? No tool to buy and you know it will be done right (would't think it would cost much either)
