997TT at Work

I drove 650kms to work with 400m of unpaved road. Had a lapse in judgement. The before picture is below.

That sucks!

If you haven't already washed it. Rinse it off AND then wipe the car down by hand with running water over it. This helps rinse off small hard grains of sand that would scratch the crap out of your clear coat.

+1 wash that very very carefully as the dried mud is going to mar the crap out of your finish if you wash it with haste. and on a black car any mistake is going to show 10X worse

I personally would rinse that down as amw described. run water over the car for as long as necessary so that as much if not all the mud has been rinsed away before you touch it with ANYTHING! then only use your fingers to gentle help rinse away any stubborn areas. then and only then would I start using wash mitts etc

Good Luck
Art

Lets not get carried away here.

A (black or otherwise) car THIS filthy needs only:
-Hit a self service high pressure car wash that has a pre soak setting
-Soak entire car w presoak (will strip wax btw)...let soak for a spell
-Hit entire car w high press wash setting
-Repeat if necessary
-rinse
-*Pay close attention to wheel wells and lower rockers as the dirt can hide and end up on your wash mitt when washing
-Drive car home
-Perform a *carefully executed 2 bucket method car wash with extra soap and extra wash mitt rinses
-Dry and reseal as usual
-

I did hit a self service high pressure wash. The car is reasonably mud free now but will take care in doing a final clean and re wax.
