Very very hard to mimic the sound - the closest would be a cross flow design, although it still pales in comparison.

Those pesky turbos take away the GT3's burble rumble and crackle and etc.

But on the bright side, if you happen to love the sound of a Dyson vacume cleaner, you are in luck.................... LOL

I believe I spoke with Joe earler today. For anyone interested in this subject, our 3" X-Pipe sounds a lot like the 997 GT3 - much more so than any TT "muffler design" I have ever heard...X-Pipe is the way to go for GT3 sound...

Full 3" dual tips make it best!

What's your exhaust run? Any sound clips? Tried going to the website but doesn't seem up and running.

My Protomotive catless x-pipe is a nice mix of burble rumble crackle and swooshing turbo spool.

Ryan,

We have several options for the 997TT at various price points - you can see the options on the web site and we offer a 6speed discount for all systems on the site. If you are interested, please email, PM or call me for details on 6speed member pricing.

We are working on a new website and the existing site was down for a while this evening, as we were doing some work. It's up again now. There are some video links on the 997.1TT page.

That's true, but even those at full throttle sound like dyson on steroids. Mind you I am not saying that's a bad thing. I love the turbo sound as a totally different sound the NA engines.

I had speedtech on my Turbo S and it sounded much more Gt3 like than all others that I have heard except maybe Switzer. Got a lot of compliments on the sound. Still the flat 6 turbo has limits but the x flow pipes do give it more of a howl IMO. Also, Speedtech's service was excellent.

Install Straight Pipes(NO CATS). That's what you want. I have a Tubi Race Exhuast, Its loud but refined. After 4k+ it sounds similar to a GT3. Muffler takes away some of the drone/rumble.

It doesn't sound like a GT3 at all and the drone zone is from 2k to 3k making it almost unbearable for cruising.

Tubi "RACE" Exhaust....it sounds pretty amazing...stab the throttle around 4K and you will have perma-grin...Its been five years for me with this system and it still puts a smile on my face!
