SL65 to the dragstrip again, this time with Eurocharged tune
I figured I would start another thread, just to help anyone searching for this info. I finally got my act together and got down to Atco for a couple passes with my new Eurocharged tune. And that's all I got...2 passes. It was Chevy day last Saturday, and myself and my buddy with his E55 were the token Euro cars there. First pass, spun pretty bad, but managed a 11.26 at 125, 2nd pass didn't spin as bad and mustered a 10.99, 127. Only in the 10's by .002, but a 10sec pass is a 10sec pass. I'll take it. (For reference, my car ran 11.81 at 117ish on street tires stock, with a 1.82 60ft.) This time I had some really really used drag radials, BFG TA 275-35-18's, and launched at 1500-2000rpm's or so and eased it out, not going full throttle until the 2nd gear shift, and it still hazed the tires a bit. I should have done a better burnout both times, but..hey, I've been a bike guy for 25yrs. Woulda coulda shoulda...I did race in "dynomode" and had no issues at all, other than the usual roll bar popping up on launch.
Time slips and Vids below. Videos are a little long as another friend taped both of us racing.

These are STELLAR results - some of the best in the Country!
Can't / Won't get much better unless you do some serious upgrades to the car.
Having been part of the AMG drag racing community for several years, I can honestly tell you that a 1.6X 60' is about as good as it gets in that car. Power to weight with suspension is not in your favor. Did I mention weight? Very few, if any, have pulled better (ie 1.5X 60's), again in "that" car. Only one that I can think of off hand is Lou's 1.58 60' here:
http://www.dragtimes.com/2005-Merced...deos-7670.html
And, check out his burnout! Keep in mind, this wasn't Louie's first rodeo. He was routinely in the 1.6Xs with very similar power levels as your current setup.
By comparison, best I ever pulled in my 10 second E55 was a 1.62 60', after hundreds of passes. And, that car has a much better "launch potential" than the SL platform.
Oh, and don't blame the tires
....they came at a good price and performed admirably under the circumstances... and the shipping/delivery couldn't have been cheaper or easier (free and to your door). If anything, your burnouts (not even sure they qualify as such) left a LOT to be desired. John Force would not be proud
Take your 10 second pass, cherish it, bottle it and move on

Thanks Jay..appreciate your compassion...all kidding aside..burnouts DID suck (if you want to call them burnouts)...but my excuse is, there was no water in the water box and every time I went to spin, it grabbed, so I figured it was OK, and I had no interest in busting an axle. Now I know what to expect with this car for next time...
...and thanks for the tires...the price was right...delivery was OK...

No worries...you needed a zinger after those horrendous burnouts... heck, I put more heat in my tires pulling out of the garage
For what it's worth, and with that time (10.99), you should now officially change your screen name by replacing the two o's with an "ea".....TTBEAST!
Still one of my favorite commercials of all time...
Wish all of our wives would take such an interest in our cars

Thanks guys. The car has front mount heat exchanger (which of course doesn't add power, but helps me keep the power I do have) no mufflers and Eurocharged ECU/TCU tune. I also have fairly light wheels, instead of the heavy 20" wheels I baselined stock with.
