Hi all,

I wanted to share my personal experience with the above mods today. I've been fortunate enough to have own a 996TT a few years back and recently bought a Tiptronic 997.1 Turbo. I've always been afraid to modify my turbos due to cabin noise concerns. I'm sure many married guys can relate. After reading numerous positive experiences from Kline Innovation exhaust owners , I pulled the trigger on their system along with GIAC stage 2 tuning, Tiptronic flash, and IPD Plenum.

All the mods and installations were performed By Design(Sam Ahdoot). Sam and his installer took excellent care of my car. I was very impressed by his attention to details and the "do it right" attitude. The installation went smooth as planned and I was on my way home after 5 hours.

The drive home was an unbelievable experience and extremely satisfying. The exhaust sound was exactly what I wanted, quiet at cruising and deep at wot. Their claims are true guys, no drone and resonance. For the money, I can't think of a reason why anyone should be sitting on the fence. Excellent built quality at an awesome price.

GIAC stage 2 ECU and Tiptronic tuning also turned this car into a beast. The turbo lag was almost gone. Shifting on Tiptronic is once again fun and responsive, especially in sports mode. I can't say whether or not the ipd plenum made a big difference but the car sure felt awesome with these upgrades.

I didn't care to dyno the car because I'm not a HP number guy. The most important factors for me were sound,throttle response, and turbo lag. I was completely satisfied with all categories. At the end of the day it's really about how you feel when you drive the beast. I'm glad to have finally found the right upgrades for this car.

Hello, what flash did you choose for the tiptronic box and there is a real difference in speed gearshift and others ... ?

Tune und Exhaust really wake up the engine and improve driving experience.

You might also think about adding and 997.2 Turbo IC which would perfectly complete this great tuning package.

Nice upgrades always love reading about others experience with Kline exhaust being the same as mine.

 

I picked the GIAC tiptronic flash. I was skeptical of their claims but I had to try it . Tiptronic in 08 is slow and not fun to shift. I had manual transmission before so i know how the car should shift. Overall I'm happy with the flash. What's nice about Giac is that you don't have to change spark plugs. I like the conservative approach rather than pushing the car to the max causing engine problems down the road.

Thanks Sam for looking out for my best interests. I like the fact that you didn't push me to purchase stuff that I wasn't comfortable with. GIAC tippy flash was a good call too. By the way, exhaust passed the wife test last night. Her comment was "can you make it louder, J/k". She took that joke back at WOT. LoL.

 

It's always better on the wallet when she's happy, no surprise purse or shoes required

Can the GIAC Tip flash be installed on a Softronic ECU tuned car?

 

I'm not sure if its compatible. Sam may know the answer to your question.

 

I had the IPD Plenum, Y-pipe, and bigger throttle body installed by Turbo Mike on Friday. I also have the Kline exhaust from SamboTT and a GIAC tune, which I had done before.

The before and after is almost like I got into another car. Throttle response is greatly improved. The turbos now kick in even sooner. It seems that every change, GIAC, Kline exhaust, and now the intake parts make the car more responsive to throttle input.

The power gain is most noticeable in the mid range where the car now delivers much more thrust than before.

Great Power for the investment. Absolutely worth it.
