IC help

Hey Guys,

Sorry I know it's probably on here some where but it's all mixed and I really couldn't find my answer. I've got the 997 and see that the 997.2 IC is a much better option. Will the 997.2 IC just plug and play or do mods and hoses need to be changed?

Thanks

It will fit the hoses but not the ducts. You need to trim the ducts a little.

Are aftermarket intercoolers better than the 997.2 intercoolers? Is it worth it to upgrade to aftermarket intercoolers if you already have .2 intercoolers?

Unfortunately there are no intercoolers sold by aftermarket companies that have been proven to be better than .2 coolers.

Save your money for the 991TT that you will want in a couple of years, the benefits will be minimal at best.

Agreed! Might be different if you lived down here in the Scottsdale heat like us.

So you guys think IC upgrade won't do much here in Buffalo? I only drive the car during the summer. I just want some extra power. I have a tune an exhaust and was led to believe the IC would be a nice add? What would you recommend?

In the summer you will definitely notice the difference in performance.

I just emailed Rhonda. Is it a pain to trim the ducts and get these in?

I have .2 Coolers. You don't have to trim the ducts. The metal tabs on the coolers that foul on the ducts can be simply bent over, or cut off. You can bend them over with a big set of pliers or tapped over with a hammer. They are not very strong and only foul on one side of the cooler.
